  • Because the majority of all fraud is committed on the latest electrical products Amazon require sellers to be pre-approved.

    See:

    Amazon Pre-Approved sellers link

I imagine you have to have a decent feedback history to qualify.

Sales have been slow my end for a while, although I have been swapping a lot of my penny books through RISI. (For other penny books mostly!) Got my first negative rating on RISI though, which I don't think was warranted. :(

Hopefully, my luck's about to change though as I've sold 4 books today!!! :j

Oh dear I hope that wasn't me - I've just left my first negative. The book was described as being in excellent condition with no damage. It has a really badly creased spine and cover, stained and yellowing pages and is generally rank. I dread to think what it would have been like if the sender had thought it was less than excellent. They haven't acknowledged receipt of my book yet either, even though it was sent 10 days ago. Definitely my worst RISI experience to date.

No. It wasn't me. I left feedback for the sender as soon as the book arrived the other day and my book wasn't listed as excellent. :o

I have had 4 not arrive, 2 offered to post mine back which I declined as they were books I was trying to get rid of. 1 never answered at all, and one told me sorry but there was nothing she could do about it!

  • Hi Everyone,
Where can I find out more about where you find books that sell for £10+!? I've sold quite a few books on AMazon before finding MSE and it looks as though I've been selling myself short. Is there an info section on here?
    Thansk for your help,
    Bunny

How would you price a book if there weren't any on there?

  • Hi Bunny - the books that we've found that sell for the most money are the specialist types like up to date medical or university courses, weird and wacky such as reincarnation, angels etc and anything that you might think is a bit hard to get hold of. Novels and mainstream books don't sell for very much at all.

Juno - go to www.bookfinder.com and see if there is someone else selling your book somewhere and go by the price that they are asking. If it can't be found on bookfinder then just pluck a figure out of the air and hope for the best, you can always reduce it in a few months if it hasn't sold.
I had a book that couldn't be found on bookfinder, I priced it at £15 I think, (it was just a 1980 book on how to assess childrens reading) it sold a few hours later to the author who later told me it was to give to his new grandchild, I wonder if he would have paid more for it? I'll never know.

Some kind soul has left me a bad feedback on risi today.
Book was described as old copy, was a hardback no dustjacket, no damage at all and pages were clean and binding tight. I remember because I was in two minds as to whether to get rid of it. She has described the book as being " in VERY poor condition", has upset me a bit as I know it wasn't, also I have still to receive her book. If it was a yellow paged tatty book I could understand but it wasn't!
