I work hard all week, my job is quite demanding, and I find books quite therapeutic and relaxing. Its my form of escape, though if I hadn't read this thread I doubt I would ever have started at all.
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

I'm feeling really fed up with the whole book thing at the moment, caused by RISI swaps in a poor state and only one Amazon sale in the last week. I know it will pass but I'm too impatient!

hornetgirl I am just the same. When I haven't had any sales for a while I get so fed up and want to just dump all my books on the local charity shop.

I'm surrounded by millions of books, and I'm not allowed to sell them! I'm sitting next to a bookshelf that must have over 1000 in, and no one ever reads them!

Quick question, how have people got on with greenmetropolis? I've listed a few books that happen to be sitting here by the PC, but is it worth spending some real time listing all my other low value books?

    Thanks AT.

I think I will leave it then as I'm not really in the mood to drag all my books out of storage to list them. Maybe if any of the few I have already listed sell I will list more.

I'm not even going to look at the swapit site though, must *sell* books, must make room... (repeat every time i get tempted).

You two, come on - chin up - this is silly talk.

Go have a cup of Earl Grey and think about what you've just said. It'll all be fine in a few days, trust me, I'm an optimist
  • May I have some of that optimism too, AT? This week I am putting in a claim to the Royal Mail for my lost book, for the full amount.

I also sold "Breakfast at Tiffanys" for £1.49, after it had failed to sell on eBay for much less. I think it is on the syllabus again.

ETA I have already had my Earl Grey with a slice of Battenburg.
I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!
  • Becky,

I'm quite the same as you. I have a busy job during the week (and sometimes on weekends) so i find selling books relaxing as well. Seeing the cash in the bank also helps.
I went to the markets today and found a load of unusual books so i'm happy!

The 40,000 books went for £920. I had to leave the house to stop myself!
