Nooooooooo, don't make me worry about books relisting themselves. I have enough trouble keeping track of them all as it is.

I had a nice outing to a second hand bookshop today! I was intending to see if one of my books that I can't find anywhere was worth anything, but the man didn't know either. I did get a nice Enid Blyton, and I'm going back tomorrow for a 1st edition, but they're for me and not for selling.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Is anyone else having problems with RISI books. Around 8 of mine haven't turned up even though some of them are 2-3 weeks old. What do you do if they don't turn up? I have emailed, 4 never replied, 2 said sorry and asked if they wanted them to return my book (which I declined as I was trying to get rid of them) and 2 said sorry but there's nothing I can do about it. I have left top feedback for the 2 which offered a return, what should I do about the rest? And why are so many not arriving is well over 5% that aren't turning up.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Well for the people that just don't care, you should leave bad feedback and an explanation because they are not entering into the spirit of the thing and other people should be warned!!!!!
The people that offered to return books are obviously genuine people like us (without the selling element) who care about doing something properly so its okay to just agree to forget about it.
I have come to the conclusion that its not worth bothering with CDs unless you already own them and just want to get rid of them. The postage payment is paltry (£1) and you make virtually nothing on them if they are not selling for over £5. The people that are selling CDs for cheaper than me are fools and wasting their time!!!!!!!!!
I am thinking about getting rid of my antiques cabinet, I've only had it 2 months and I know I haven't given it a proper try but its too high maintenance!!!! The only problem is, if I give it up I'll have a house full of antiques aswell as BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek:Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
i'm happy with even a small profit margin of £2 so i'll sell cd's or books on if i know i can make at least that
i bought an obscure cd from a charity shop recently and sold it in less than 24 hours, i paid £1 and it sold for £8 postage is only 47p so the £1 postage more than covers it
i do prefer higher margins on my books and whilst i will sell something for a lower margin if i already have it i don't tend to buy books that will only get me a few quid unless they are just really cheap and i don't have time to check the isbn's first...
actually i did just that a few days ago and got a book for 33p, just sold it and will make a clear £5 profit! :T
i prefer to make higher margins but the lower value books sell faster and i've got to keep food on the table so i just take the view of 'pennies make pounds' and hope for the bestfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
A small profit is fine
but some of the CDs on there cannot be making more than 50p!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure none of them are ours though because we are all very conscious of the costs of packaging etc. whereas I think some people would forget about that when figuring out their profit. :eek:Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -

not me, i have a spreadsheet for that, tight b*st*rd that i am  :rotfl:
actually though i almost always use recycled packaging, though i use the nicest looking stuff for amazon, people on ebay expect it (and i make point of mentioning it in my auctions) so i only spend the cost of tape which is cheap
labels i get free from avery they are so generous in sending out samplesfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0
