soolin wrote:AT, I think you only get a free month if you have never had a shop before, however, it isn't even clear from the ebay pages that the first month is free anyway!
I'm having a search now to see if I can back up either of my statements this is ebay after all, so why make the help pages helpful?

The last store was an ebay.com store which I opened long before ebay.uk had shops so I might just squeak in with this.0 -

Finally sold another book on Amazon this evening, and one on Ebay, so maybe this thread does work some magic.'Everyone loves to read but it can be a real nuisance when you lose your place. Here's a solution. When you finish reading a page, just tear it out. You'll save money on bookmarks too!' -- Amanda's Handy Hints, Amanda Keller. :cool:0

Now I am really cross with the whole Amazon thing. I eventually sold a book, packaged it up, went back into email to double check address etc., only to find an email from buyer saying that he no longer needed the book and not to send it. Ok, I thought that's the end of that. I have gone into my sellers account today to find that the brute has left me BAD feedback!!! What is that about - he decides he no longer needs my book so I get bad feedback!! I am really really cross. He has written "I do not require this book anymore". How can he do this - why would he want to? This is not my fault!!
Sorry for the rant - feel better now.0 -

I got bad feedback because i refunded someone when I had mislaid the item and couldnt find it in time to send it within the 2 working days time limit
i emailed amazon to say it was unfair and they removed the feedback - try it - you shouldnt have to suffer because of a bad buyerSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -
Ta Seabicuit - I shall give it a go.0

Had a quick look through this thread but can't find what I'm looking for.
I have a book which I bought a while ago from a charity shop & having now read it I want to list it on Amazon. I typed the ISBN number in & it brought up this book title (It's a small paperback which I wouldn't have thought would be worth much more than maybe £2-£3.) On Amazon it's got a Like New listed at £59.99, a Very Good at £83.85 & one at £125.00. And a NEW at £75.
Is this a reasonable price for this book - Linda Newbery The Shouting Wind? Is there any website I can check if this is right as it seems a lot for it. Mine as a name written on the inside cover, how much would you price it at because of this? The rest of the book is perfect.
Must add as well that most of the seller's seem to be from the UK & one from USA.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0 -
Hi Yvonne, here is a snippet from the first post, as far as the written name goes, it will affect the value but hopefully not too badly
high priced books - why?
If you see some books like yours with really high prices don't get too excited yet, this is often a ploy by some sellers to sell for a silly price, then they bend over backwards to buy the book in - can't see how it would really work in practice though. You can check how realistic these high prices are by looking at www.bookfinder.com if there are a few others like yours at a similar high price then that's great! it doesn't really mean that it will sell for that price, you could end up lowering the price as the weeks go by but you might have a nice surprise. The crucial point to remember with Amazon is that you have to be prepared to sit it out and wait for a buyer to come along, this could be weeks or even years so your cash may well be tied up long term so if you are buying books purely to sell on only spend what you can afford to set aside without missing it0 -
Cheapest on bookfinder is £57.08 so I'm going to list mine at £49.99 & lower it if I think I need to, does that seem reasonable?2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0
