Just a reminder to check your profit margins after the royal mail price rise! I've got one book I was gonna list, but even if there was no Amazon fees I'd still make a pound less than the postage costs!

Had a bit of a lull over the past couple of weeks but sold two books today so I'm hoping April's going to be a good month for Amazon sales. :)

I've noticed that Rough Guide and Lonely Planet travel guides for countries are priced at very near the Amazon sell price. Do these sell well?

Kat, funny you should ask that as I sold one today and it was barely worth the effort. Mine was priced the lowest at £1.50 (can't remember what I paid for it prob 50p)- only acceptable - and the postage was £1.70 (that was first class tho and its all gone up), so I wont bother again - but it is out of the house - I probably made 40p. They are surprisingly heavy.

I found an old copy of Rough Guide To Portugal a couple of weeks ago and I typed the isbn number into Amazon and its an old copy so they don't list it. Went for a good price on Ebay though.

I might try listing under the new version and mention that its an old version on Amazon next time I find one. I read that tip one here after I listed the Portugal one. :wall:

Was yours one for a specific country Larmy or one of the more obscure ones like a phase book?

The Greek Islands - maybe I was just unlucky, but it was one of my very first purchases when I started selling - I had it ages, the next price up was £1.99 but I just wanted to get shot of it - never thought it would sell atall!

Had my first email from a buyer saying that their book hasn't arrived. :( Book was ordered on the 12th March and posted on the 13th. Doesn't look like it's going to turn up now. :(

    Bother Bother Bother

I had a sale on Friday afternoon, sent it first class saturday as you do, of course this morning (tuesday) I get an email from them saying their address on Amazon is incorrect so send to another address

SO why didnt they let me know on Friday when I could have actually done something about it

and of course, I very stupidly forgot to put a return address on the parcel (brain dead at the time)

    Oh pants!!!

They probably did! The Amazon "Contact this Seller" feature has been out of order for about 5 days and the buyers email was probably caught up in that.
