Can I please just remind people about the new postage prices from next Monday (the third). Anyone selling 1p books on a tight margin might want to double check that they can still make a profit.

Anyway I just had to say thanks to apprentice tycoon for his post as it encouraged me to put some our books up for sale and after putting 25 on last night I've sold two this Morning!!

i have been following this thread and deceided to take the plunge and sell some books on amazon , but when i put the isbn in it says
Please note: Because the item you indicated is not currently in our catalog, it is ineligible for Amazon Marketplace selling

so what i was wondering is there a way around this problem or am i just unlucky with my first attempt

this has happened with 3 items ?

Dawn , try searching for the book with title and author. You may still find it and you can list it there. Yours may be a book club edition of some sort which is why the isbn number will be different. If it is a different edition I make that cleas=r in my listing.

i have tried that and am still getting the same message , can it be listed under a similar title , if i make it clear in the write up that it is a different book about the same subject IYSWIM ?

Hi dawn - I think you have a problem there, if it won't search at all then you really can't list it unless it's very close to another one that's on the database then I'd write in capitals - to make sure that it really will be seen - to state what the difference is and maybe ask the interested buyer to contact you for more details

I've just bought some books from local charity shop - they are having a 10p day book sale! One of them is on amazon and the one I have is exactly the same but looks like it was an edition done for a special offer for some magazine. It says on the back "not for resale" Where do I stand here? What would you do?

thanks tycoon, looks like i will have to dig out some more books to list , i did a search on bookfinder and 2 of them are listed on there
