It does seem very odd that this has happened time after time, I think that the first known recipient was Nads, he got new sales within hours of having a public whinge back on thread one - it'll be interesting to see if voodoo gets a result now.0 -

The book is only a thin paperback so I will go ahead and list it internationally. For the 2 books I sold so far I used my kitchen scales but they seem to be way out because I weighed he books at 450 g and the scales at the PO gave 710g, its weird as they are right on for food(I checked). Suppose I'll have to get myself something that will weigh books decently. Any suggestions?
I know this might sound dead obvious but did you weigh it after you had packaged it? The packaging can add quite a bit to the weight!!!
Please don't be insulted by me asking this but I've done it before!!!!!Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
After reading of Seabiscuits success I am writing to have my own winge that I haven't sold anyting for days and that no-one seems to want any of my books on RISI!!!
For some reason everyone seems to have slowed down over the past 4 weeks or so - hopefully things will pick up soon.
Here's hoping for some sales!!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -

Well, thanks again AT and all the others who have posted such good advice here. Yesterday I bought my first book specifically to sell on Amazon. I noticed it last week and looked it up; the cheapest it was selling for was £40 (that was a different edition of the same book). I snaffled it up at the charity shop for £2.50 yesterday lunchtime, listed for £12 (a fair price as it was almost new, no creases or anything) at about 1:30, and it had sold by 6:00 pm! I just posted it off today. It's a shame because I was hoping to get the chance to have a quick read of it first, but I am not complaining; after all costs are factored in, I made at least £6!
So I am happy. I bought another book today and am hoping to replicate this success. From now on Saturdays are going to be spent scouring charity shops.'Everyone loves to read but it can be a real nuisance when you lose your place. Here's a solution. When you finish reading a page, just tear it out. You'll save money on bookmarks too!' -- Amanda's Handy Hints, Amanda Keller. :cool:0 -

Found it at last! Thanks for that. Description of book "very good" nothing else. No mention of the large creases on cover, but I suspect this may be due to postman forcing it through letterbox as it was in ordinary envelope. However the pages are very yellow, especially the first inch all round the page. And the book was filthy although it did scrub up with a baby wipe. Am going to email him now see what he says.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

I have never ordered used books before, always new. Am awaiting a "like new" book I paid over £20 for I pray to god it is! I bought 4 this week will have to stop or all my profits will be gone! Only text books though OH would have a stroke if I started buying ordinary books when there's about 500 lying about the sitting room and hall! Still no sogn of house move and we're desperate for space now he's got the book selling bug too.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

How's that working out? have you been booting together and both spotted a good book or are you looking in different places?0 -
No probs voodoozoe -yeah I did wiegh it with the packaging on. I have checked my scales with a 250g food pacake and it is spot on. Maybe its because the packaged bood was overhanging the weighing plate?Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.
