becky004 wrote:Finally got the "sold dispatch now" emails, was worried as I state will post next day and couldn't have without addresses!
When I sent my Dispatched email for my 48 hours delayed one, I apologised for any delay and politely explained that Amazon had not informed me of their purchase until "time, date" as they had been experiencing some problems with their computer system. Don't like passing the buck, but nor do I want to look at fault. He left me some lovely feedback anyway0 -
Just popped in to say I'm a happy Hornet - three sales today, my best ever. Not very high value, but profits is profits.
I kind of knew this would happen. DH usually does all my dispatching as he can walk to the PO in his lunch hour. But he's away this week, so I'll have to go. Of course I sold b****r all last week when he was around :rotfl:0 -

And I thought I had a vivid imagination
But someone beat me to a sale, as in I think my book was the same price but better condition, but they'd put something like ..."received as a present and wouldn't dream of reading it" (It was a bit of an 'iffy' book) The buyer must have been intrigued.0 -
Just been down to the charity shop and picked up a few books, 10p for hardback and 5p for soft. Started to check them out on amazon to list t ham and the first book comes up with 3 books avalable the cheapest at £45!!! and one from the states at £79!!! The price printed on this book is £16.99 so how do they they get to these sort of prices??!!
Anyway i listed it at £40 , theres enough profit there as it cost me all of 10p.lol.
Just a question there was some text when I listed it that I didn't understand, has any1else seen this?:
Average pending pre-order price
(Based on your condition)
£15.00
and under this a little box with the text "buyer wating" in it.
Anyway off to finish listing the other books. :jStarting MB- looking for Raf offers.

I can't beleive this! Is the world going mad - another book at ridiculas prices, this time a soft back that cost me 5p is on amazon for £52.41!!!! Okay there is only one lsited and thats in the state but still.
The question is should I list this for worldwide shipping to improve chances of it selling? What price should I list it at? And how do I go about shipping it the cheapest/best way?
btw the isbn number of this book is:0851406637(I,m not going to list this yet until I've read the feedback form you guys.)Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.

I think this means there is a buyer waiting who is prepared to pay £15 this transaction would go through automatically so you'd have a sale straight away. Don't quote me though, wait for an expert to reply.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

i found that £15 is the average price this sells for but this doesnt mean the buyer waiting isnt necessarily willing to pay this much
in the case i had, the buyer wasnt willing to pay the average price suggested so i didnt get an automatic saleSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -
Thanks for the reply becky, I didn't know you could do that when trying to order a book. I'll go have a look see hows it done.
Thanks also Seabiscuit, I wonder why the high prices listed if this book sells for £15 on average then?Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.

Had a RISI this morning just went to site to check condition stated. Described as excellent with no damage. Is a 2004 edition, don't know where its been! Pages have yellowed quite badly for 2 year old book and there are loose pages which have been put back in, not taped and are hanging outside of the other pages slightly, also pages with slight tears on them! So you couldn't accidently describe it as excellent! :mad:I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Hi Tabath - you've done very well for yourself :j a buyer waiting is a very nice thing to see! just list that at £15.00 and wait, it's as good as sold.
edit - I had a buyer waiting notice on a DVD that I listed on Friday, it was for £15.00 so I priced at that and it sold on Monday
edit again - yes, I would list in internationally - IF - it's not a heavy book, the postage allowances are there on the listing your book page if you click the international option, check the weight carefully and look at www.royalmail.com to check how much it will cost you to send, look at printed paper rates
As far as the others go, forget about the price the book was when it was new, that's all irrelevant now, it could be very sought after nowadays - but you do see silly, silly prices asked, these are just way off beam. The thing to do is get a 'second opinion' so to speak by looking at www.bookfinder.com and see what other sellers are asking for your books and base your price on what you find there.
The book that you gave the number for for example is for sale in the USA for £11.27, the thing is - would a UK buyer who really wants that book know about bookfinder? maybe not....I'd price it lower than the one that's there on amazon and reduce it every couple of wekks until you hit the £11.00 mark or it sells.0
