tabath wrote:Thanks also Seabiscuit, I wonder why the high prices listed if this book sells for £15 on average then?
there is a rareish book im after - the average price on amazon is quoted as £16.50 - ive seen copies listed as low as £12.50 (and missed buying it by seconds - grr) and much much higher prices, so i guess they just work out an average - suppose it also depends on condition tooSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -
I think there must be a fellow Amazonian near me buying all the good books...there is never any weird and wacky to buy at all.
Instead of getting better at this I seem to be getting worse!!!! Just don't know what to buy any more and my sales have REALLY slowed down.
I have also almost given up on RISI because everyone that wants to swap with me only has only penny novels  I don't know how any of you are doing well out of it!!!!!!
Feeling very down hearted about it all (other stuff too!!!). I miss the heady days of selling loads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -

Right can anyone help me with this I ordered a used book from amazon, I have the order item ID and listing ID, is there some way I can check the description of the book as stated by the seller? The book was not cheap on arrival today it had been sent in an ordinary envelope, and was small enough to force through the letter box so got a bit damaged, it is also absolutely filthy and pages are quite marked with dirt of some form. I want to check how it was described before I email the seller.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Thanks for the info Apprentice Tycoon.
The book is only a thin paperback so I will go ahead and list it internationally. For the 2 books I sold so far I used my kitchen scales but they seem to be way out because I weighed he books at 450 g and the scales at the PO gave 710g, its weird as they are right on for food(I checked). Suppose I'll have to get myself something that will weigh books decently. Any suggestions?Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.

becky - go to 'your account' (not your sellers account) then you'll be able to get to 'amazon payments - view your recent purchases' then you'll see 'listing id' which will take you to the description you saw at the time of purchase.0

tabath - check your scales with a known weight item like a pack of butter etc before you buy a new set, it seems very odd that there is such a difference - did you actually see 710 on the scales at the PO? could the staff have keyed in the wrong weight?0
