Well I have had feedback today from somebody who says that price of item was a bit high. Last time I checked I wasn't forcing anybody to buy my items. It was an item where there was a selling waiting and I charged below what it was reccomending. No pleasing some people.

I think this is always going to happen. Sellers like us have to price our books to take into account the high Amazon fees, yet the buyer just sees all that money, plus postage allowance being paid out. I think it would be nice if Amazon showed somewhere in their marketplace that sellers pay commission and don't set their own postage rates. That would solve problems like fattyrae1 encountered, or like your buyer being cross after the event.

Incidentally my sales seem to be on the up at the moment, has everyone noticed an increase?

In my last boxes I had lots of books from the 1930s, no good on Amazon of course as they have no isbn numbers and I decided not to list them on ebay but to take them straight to Oxfam for their specialist shops. I know I should have tried selling them but it is a real problem for me and I just had to get them out of the house, daft I know.

It's a shame you didn't want to try eBay as I sold a 1931 book for £26 on Monday on eBay. Might be worth a rethink?
I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!

It's almost a phobia for me really but I really must make more of an effort with the old books. I have only one left here at the moment, it didn't smell at all so I kept it as I thought my neighbour might like it as it is a 1930s cook book. Maybe I will list that and just see what happens.

  • My book smelt fine; if I had a load of smelly books stinking out the place, though, I might think twice!

I don't know why some smell 'old' amd some don't, is it possibly something to do with the paper used I wonder?

Even some of my newer paperbacks are beginning to get that old book smell, and they are all stored in a well heated but well ventilated house on proper bookshelves.

    It's the bookworm poo ;)
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Have bought some bounce but at £3.50 for 25 sheets its only done 12 books I think I'll just have to throw the lot. I've decided they're cursed anyway, haven't had a sale in 48 hours and was selling 2-4 a day prior to this.

No sales but have had four great feedbacks today. In 74 sales I only had 3 feedbacks so I started emailing to let them know they'd been sent (didn't ask for feedback) The ones today have pushed me from 67% to 89% which is not brilliant but is a lot more respectable I fancy! Incidently the one who gave me bad feedback didn't respond to my email and offer of refund.
And the gentleman who sent me the dirty book yesterday hasn't responded to my 2 polite emails either. I am cursed this week I fancy.
Am doing really well with the swaps though got 15 today only thing is I am looking at all the books on the shelves (not the wiffy ones) and thinking how I'd like to read them first but it would probably take me a few years and there's no profit in that!
