Could the Board about House/Flat Buying and Selling and renting be split into a Short Term (AST etc) Rentals Board and a Buying/Selling Board?
Even better, could we have separate boards for Buying/Selling for the different legal jurisdictions: England & Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland?RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
Let me also echo strongly the proposal to lock all posts (with perhaps some exceptions) after say two months.
Sorry I can't agree with putting a 'time-lock' on threads. Some of the most popular, and informative, threads (on the DFW Board at least) are over six months old, and still as useful and well subscribed as when they were first started.
Perhaps they are what you mean by 'with perhaps some exceptions' but how can the 'exceptions' be defined, and by whom?I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

How about renaming the gambling board, to something like Introductory Betting Loopholes.
Get rid of the word gambling, as that is the complete opposite of what the board is all about. It is about taking advantage of betting loopholes to make many thousands of £s. On the board regular contributers always warn against gambling and any post that mentions gambling is locked/deleted.
Just seems weird to have a board called gambling when in reality it is not tolerated and any posts that mention gambling are quickly closed. All hail the Moyesiah.0 -

Two months might be too short a period, IMO. 6 months better, if this idea is taken up?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Any chance of a Forum Jump menu at the top of the page, AS WELL AS the bottom (capitals to ensure that you don't just move it!).

People dont realalize if you have to pay for a newspaper or pay for the postage then it is not a Freebie (no spend required) so offers that you have to pay postage on or buy a rubbish newspaper would go into the Low Spend board.
Quite simple realy,GONE ENGLAND0 -
I like the Idea about the Freebies board having a "minimum spend" board,
it should keep the forum police quiet for a while:rolleyes:PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT NERD #869Numpty,Not sure why but I'm crying. Of all the peeps on this board you're the kindest & most supportive of all & I'm  &

maybe 'free plus postage' or something like that. I've seen so many posts that 'bark' quite rudely at the OP that something is free when they 'dare' to say something is free when there is postage of a couple of quid.....

I have to disagree with a few posters, sorry, and say I think separating the diaries section in DFW is a good idea, there are so many now, and thats a good thing, but it can sometimes make it hard to actually find the threads that need or offer advice cos there are so many diaries in there, if the diaries were a sub-board like the IVA/BR one is, I think the great DFW community woud remain, but it would make the DFW board much more easy to use. I have really struggled lately to find threads that offer the advice I am after.
Just my opinion tho0 -
Any chance of getting the boards listed in alphabetical order within their sections? It takes me ages to find boards sometimes even when I know which section they are in. Also, it's neater. OCD? Me? What makes you ask?
I save my favorite 3 boards in a bookmarks folder. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
