Shocked - Meeting at School

There are undoubtedly many parents out there who need parenting classes, and certainly children who need counselling, imo neither this child nor his mum falls into that category.
We, as a society are in grave danger of over analysing everything, not least childish behaviour. From there we rush to seek a professional to intervene instead of relying on our own instincts and abilities. This child is 7 years old,he has behaved very badly,it is in no ones interests to abdicate either parental responsibility, nor demonise him for an isolated incident.
It sounds to me as if the school and his mum are treating the matter correctly and that a good outcome will be achieved.0 -
Well done Leiela I knew all along that this would be a one off. Kids do fight end of if they don't something must be wrong. Even the nicest of kids will have a fight at some point its natural.
I don't know if anyone watches these programmes where you see drunken teenagers being kicked out of nightclubs and having fights with anyone on the street. It's not like he is or will do anything like that. With the sort of violence that is out in town centres now it stops me from going out its just silly.
Leiela I honestly do think that you are doing the right thing with your son, If he was naughty all the time hitting kids everyday then maybe councelling would be helpful but considering this was a one off I don't think it is necessary. It sounds like he is really remorseful for what he did do and probably won't do it again. Good luck

So just to clarify leiela-According to your post,it is ok according to you and his teachers as he was having a "bad day and just lost his temper"
I just want a yes or no answer-just for the futer incase my son physically attacks another child,i can say he had a bad day and hopefully as the other child is nursing cuts, bruises and god knows what else, with me saying that it will be the end of it.
I agree with everyone about kids fighting etc...and yes at young ages boys do push girls etc..But to repeatedly kick someone over and over and over again..Well thats just not right..Maybe one kick and realising what he had done-but to continue kicking in some sort of rage!?
Fair enough,he's your son and you are entitled to defend him as you see fit and of course you should, but there also comes a time when you have to look at the extremety of the actions-this wasnt a little fight,it was for all intensive purposes a repeated attack. And that is not normal for any child to do,dispite what you are saying-to continue to kick someone is not the same as a little playground fight after a bad day.
Would you be saying the same if he had repeatedly punched this girl in the head?
Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -
But its ok for a grown man of 21 to grab a taxi driver from behind and threaten to stab him thats so normal and everyday!0

Err.....no.
That's why he's been convicted of assault and will probably be going to prison.
I dont get your point?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

She is saying on a thread that it is normal for someone to behave like an animal and doesn't see why the taxi driver reported it. Yet a child having a small fight is the worse thing in the world!0 -

Can you quote where she said this as I can't find that part?

Ok, I now understand. Damzel has posted on another thread about Jade's bloke. Sorry but it wasn't clear if you have just read this thread.
