I got the same, going round in circles... switched browsers ie to Chrome, same thing... rebooted & cleared cookies, still the same. Now it was 5am ish, and I was thinking it was some means to prevent sales before the 6am "start". Fired up an old pc using ie and Bingo - everything had slowed down a lot, but I got the 3 days in Plymouth with a follow-on 4 days in Torquay and 5 days in Barking in Jan uary, no problem at all. Of course, can't say whether changing PC did the trick or just the ten minute wait cleared some glitch.

I didn't know Travelodge allowed dogs - hopefully the increased charges won't deter them (canine variety) from booking - it'd be great to have some intelligent company during my stays - I cannot have a dog myself now and really miss that, so to have one as a neighbour would be a real treat... Yippee!![/QUOTE]

lol It won't deter me! If you are in the room next to me I will introduce my labrador too you lol he is great company!

Ps all the people that moan about dogs in rooms, where do you draw the line. Every hotel will allow guidedogs and they are just as hairy and have the same problems as any other well trained dog.
Never argue with a fool, they will lower you to their level and then beat you with experience.........!!!:rotfl::T

You are obviously someone who does not like animals, fine thats your choice, but don't be so miserable and expect everyone else to feel the same. There are plenty of holidays that don't allow pets around, if you don't like the fact that travelodge allow pets, simple don't go there, use a hotel that has a no pet policy and stop MOANING!!!!

i dont mind pets being in rooms, as long as people are prepared to pay for that privilege. Im not the one MOANING!!!! the people moaning are the ones, who expect to have a pet in a room, and not pay for a thorough clean-up afterwards

As for being someone who doesnt like animals, tell that to my cats, chickens and guinea pigs. I just know there is a time and place for them, and i dont expect to take them all on holiday with me

I wouldnt stay in a hotel that allowed smoking either, but then again, any odour in a room, would mean i wouldnt want to stay in it, be that smoke, pets or air freshner

Guide dogs dont have the same problems as other dogs, as they have to be maintained to a higher standard than pets. We quite often look after dogs for friends/family (being the animal lovers we are) whilst they go on holiday, and tbh it takes a good week of open windows and bicarb, to get rid of that 'wet dog' smell

That is really useful to know. It seems that the sale rooms went on really early again. Someone who posted higher up got theirs at 2 am. I was up at 5.15 am and like you, found there were no £9 rooms at all left long before the 6 am when they said the sale was starting. Never mind. Will be up sooner next time!! Sorry you didn't get your room booked tho. It is dead frustrating when that happens!!!
I have just found another night I need to book, and the same thing is happening (now 11.40am)- I click on Book Now, but just go back to the search every time.
I will remember about the sales starting earlier, though - the annoying thing is that I didn't get to bed until 2am last night, so I could have done it then!

I still stand by what I said. If you don't like the fact that travelodge allow dogs, don't holiday there. I have never been anywhere that has stunk of dog afterwards, so travelodge are obviously giving the good the room a good clean afterwards, so don't really see what the problem is? Or maybe a majority of peoples dogs don't stink. I know alot of people with dogs and there are the odd one you go round to the house stinks of the dog, but on the whole (myself included) there homes smell nice.

Britain is a dog loving country, so obviously there are going to be places that allow dogs. Its certainly not about being attached at the hip. I went to Boston, Turkey and Mexico last year and certainly would not have thought of taking my dog there, but in the UK my hubby and I love rambling and going for long walks along the beach and enjoy taking our dog on these walks. (And yes we clean up every ounce of poop our dog does as like to think we are very responsible dog owners in every possible way)

I am more than happy to pay for the priviledge of having my dog with me in a hotel room. And would not take a dog that wasn't house trained or who was covered in fleas.

    Ps

I got two rooms in Bournemouth for Nine quid each, a night in eastbourne and also a night in brighton for a friends wedding.

These rooms were booked at 2.00 am. I remembered last time when this offer was on the rooms were released early. I had no trouble whatsoever booking the rooms as the site was quiet as most sane people were probably asleep lol unlike the bargain hunter I am lol

I dont mind staying in a room that has had animals in, as long as the room has had a thorough clean. If you want to bring your animal, then dont be up in arms about the additional costs involved, which was the main argument going on here. Not the fact people dont like staying in a room thats had animals in, more the fact dog owners didnt see why they should pay for the privilege

What i dont get is why someone has dragged up an old post, and rekindled the debate, i thought this had been done and dusted?

It was your comment about "but hate the fact more, that some people wont leave the house without their pet attached to their hip" Not the people paying for there pet which I found a bit ott. I also didnt know there was a time limit for people to respond to comments on here that they disagree with?

I totally agree that people should be made to pay for there dogs, but thats not what I am talking about here.

well if people feel they are not able to leave the house without their pet, are they not attached at the hip? Perhaps you are viewing my point from the wrong direction. If they werent attached at the hip, there would be no need to take the animal on holiday with them, and therefore not have to pay the £20

As for there being a time limit on replying to a post, i was just saying its a bit odd, to trawl back through 3m old posts, to see what offers are on in the current Travelodge sale, and then comment about having dogs in rooms, not that you bagged a £9 bargain

I didn't trawl through three million posts lol Trust me I really don't have the time!!! I wanted to see how much luck people had had on the offer, searched travelodge and this thread came up as it has recent posts on it. It's only three pages long and I came across your post while browsing this thread in minutes. Maybe you are not that familiar with the internet, but the search process throws up lots of things in seconds.

I am not missing your point. I like to spend time with my pet sometimes, and am quite happy to pay the £20.00 to do that. I also sometimes have holidays with other members of my family, and don't class myself as joined to the hip to them either! I really can't see how sometimes wanting to spend time with my dog makes me joined to the hip with him. Just because you choose to go on holiday with anyone, be it your hubby, dog, friend etc. does not mean you are joined to the hip. I find your opinions to be quite odd if I am honest.
