Back on Topic I book a night for Just before christmas at the £9 rate at around 2am so they must have put them on very early this time.

They did, I got mine at that time too. They seem to release the rooms early everytime which is quite handy as the site was very quiet then.

Yes it did go a bit off topic but its not on the wrong board. We were talking about the fact the travelodge hotels accept dogs. Travelodges are mainly based in the UK, not sure what that has to do with overseas? Flea asked me why I take my dog to places like the Travelodge in the UK but would not take him abroad.

I thought that I had missed the boat, but have just booked 2 nights in the Worthing seafront TL for £18. It is for mid December, so may be rather bleak, but it is still a getaway to the seaside.

I found some bad reviews of this hotel from November 2008, but it had only just opened so may have improved by now.

Someone on MSE gave a tip: you book the room for one night, then instead of a separate booking for the 2nd night you should use Amend to change the number of nights to 2. This did not work for me, so I booked the 2nd night separately. I still got a combined invoice for £18 though.

You don't take your kids to restaurants where the clientele are mainly adults, thats fine. Its your choice, like its your choice not to go to a hotel that accepts animals. I am glad that the travelodge acknowledges that people like to spend times with there dogs, and its not run by someone like you who seems to think that because they dont want dogs there everyone else thinks the same way.

As I have said before in numerous posts, there are places for people with dogs and places for people without. If it bothers you that much about a dog being there for gods sake go somewhere else and stop trying to spoil it for everyone else.

I have made my point and won't be commenting again as someone who can't understand why someone would want to holiday with there pet to me is strange. People have pets for enjoyment and pleasure, so why on earth should they not take them away when they are enjoying themselves!

Oh and lastly, I have a couple of friends who have very kindly adopted a dog from an animal shelter. They can not afford to go on expensive holidays, and have put most of there cash into giving a dog that was going to be put down a chance of life. They can afford a £9.00 night at the travelodge as a break. What right do you have to try and stop them. But I guess your answer would be dont adopt the dog, if you want to go on a holiday.....Enough said really!

Not everyone can afford to put there dog in Kennels or have a friend family member to look after them.

No doubt if you cant find a sensible answer you will make pedantic comments about my post!!

Because they are acclimatised to the heat, the same way the Spanish people deal better with the heat than the British tourists do.

It's not unusual to see brits walking around half naked, sweltering in the heat, whilst the Spanish are wrapped up like a dogs dinner in hats and coats. Its' quite funny to see.

I am not sure that is correct.
I have never seen Spanisg Dogs in hats and coats either..
Isn't it just dog lovers being overly protective?

Totally agree.

There are lots of reasons I don't take my dog abroad, the main one being MONEY. I don't have the funds which by the look of it, alot of people on here do.


My dog is a black labrador and he does struggle with the heat when we have a hot day as black absorbs the heat. He gets quite distressed if he can't find shade when we go out. I don't think caring about my animal getting too hot and uncomfortable is being overprotective, I think the RSPCA would call it being a sensible caring dog owner.
