Very unlikely to be further reductions. There has already been a sale covering this period with rooms from as little as £12.

There will be a further sale still I reckon, based on previous years. There is usually one sometime from the end of Oct right up until the end of Dec for further Dec room clearances. I am convinced that more and more they are employing the tactic of weeding out/filling up rooms with those needing to travel....before finally clearing their space. Usually one sale will feature a plethora of cheap London rooms (the Travelodges I have stayed in in London are deserted mid-Dec)....and we haven't had that yet. Don't give up all hope just yet!

People go in mid Dec. to shop for Christmas in London, hence the price is keep up.

The £12 sale has long gone for up to the end of this year.
In fact the £12 sale sale was up to the end of March 2013.

There will be a "mopping up" for the 1st quarter of next year, probably a £19 sale but the next £12 will be for Apr,May and June 2013.

I got a week in Bournemouth at the end of March for £12 a night.
That`s it, there`s no going back to £12.

We'll see! ;) They had several winter/Christmas sales last year...and I haven't seen them yet release as many rooms as normal in the recent sales (they specify in the releases how many rooms are released). Still confident of getting a deal on my mid Dec rooms in London. Last year clearance wasn't until Nov 27th.

I have done a bit of researching the previous deals....and looked at what people have scored....to my reckoning they haven't yet released the rooms they will need to in London. We shall see....no biggie if I'm wrong.....plenty of other options...but will wait until the start of Dec!

Hmm, he can obtain a Xmas room now for £25, or he can hope for a sale at £12. But if there is no sale the price then could well be over £100. The OP's choice.

I was only offering comment on whether a further sale is 'very unlikely'. With regard to the op's dilemma...I agree with you...if I only needed the one night, the available £25 room seems the sensible option.

We have a difference of opinion here. There is currently a winter sale for December with prices from £19 but none at this price for London. I fear that the chances of a £12 one are very unlikely.

This post (#208) was made on 27/10/11 last year ... might help the decision making re: Xmas sale if similar sale timescales are followed
