  • Two new Travelodges are opening soon, Clapham Junction (November) and Balham (August), rooms are going very cheaply if you opt for the non-refundable option. I have just booked a room in Balham, during December for £19..brilliant:j:j:j value!

Just make sure the Travelodge hotel in question is built. We booked on the last £19 per room offer weeks ago for Balham, London, due to check in tomorrow and we were only sent an email cancelling yesterday afternoon informing us it is now not due to open until next week. They offered to change the booking to another Travelodge but none were anywhere near so we have cancelled our trip. Very disappointing.

that's totally unacceptable...surely you are entitled to some sort of recompsense? ??

This may have been asked before, but to those who have used Travellodge before - is breakfast included in the price?

If not can you get breakfast on site, and what are the prices like?

Brekkies not included. Some TLs do brekkies in a bag.....very poor value.

Those that do full cooked buffet style brekkies can be good value as kids eat free, but I generally go to the nearest cafe.

You might want to find out whether your hotel is one of the 49 they are walking away from in order to avoid administration

In fairness, they have offered other accommodation. There are a great many TLs in the London area, and depending upon the ones offered and the transport links, I would have been prepared to accept this offer rather than cancelling a trip.

    Thanks for that.

We've not stayed in Travelodge before.
Does anyone know if the family rooms have a double and 2 singles?

Just the website says it's a double, and a 'pull out bed', but I don't think my two teenagers would enjoy sleeping together lol

Family room is a a double, and a large settee which is a comfortable bed and a pull-out bed underneath the settee. Trust me these are perfectly OK to sleep on - in fact they can be more comfortable than the double bed.

Sometimes there are single beds rather than the pull-out but these tend to be in hotels that TL have taken over rather than purpose built - Kings Cross Royal Scot (or possibly Farringdon which is next door to the Royal Scot!) springs to mind.

Personally, i would not worry. There is a re-assurance from the MSE team on the main page. (
