I use Basic or Value from Tesco's or Sainsburys. About 24p a bottle and it lasts me about two weeks with a squit ever day or so.
IMHO, its the bog, not worth spending any more on.0 -
Use a cheap brush every time you flush. (ooh yucky rhyme)

never use a toilet brush after watching the how clean is your house programmes,i use bleach and once a month i use borax we live in a hard water area and this tends to cut through the limescale quite easily:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

I don't use a toilet brush either. I get a bleach that has a spouty thing whereby you can squirt under the rim. Leave it to 'soak' overnight and bob's your uncle the next morning. Best of luck.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0

not sure how bleach 'kills' a toilet - mine is 32 years old and since I have lived here I have squirted cheap bleach in it every evening before I go to bed. and my loo is sparkling clean! I DO have a toilet brush - but dont actually use it! it was in the bathroom set so i put it out - its just for show really!0

Nothing kills a toilet quicker than bleach. It eats away at the enamel and makes the toilet more 'sticky' and gives the germs a place to live.
Get stuck in with a little bathroom cleaner, then flush afterwards.
Enamel? Mines porcelein (sp?) with I presume a glaze on top......
Personally limescale needs more than just bleach, as it just bleaches the limescale rather than removing it.
I use stardrops and microfibre cloth with my hand down the loo. Far easier to clean and yes it is flushed clean before I startI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

The best way is to scruple up newspapers into balls and stuff the bowl solid with newspaper, all the way from the bottom to the waterline. Then pour half a bottle of limescale remover and leave it overnight. The next day is will be as good as new.Proudly voted remain. I found a bottle of my neighbours home made wine went down well last night and left the loo sparkling clean..........after one sip we decided we couldnt drink it or our insides might have been sparkling clean too! lolMember 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

I use bleach and a toilet brush. Every other day or so, I leave the toilet brush in the toilet with the bleach so its probably cleaner than my toothbrush.0
