Denture tablets (a handful at first) thrown down there just before bed/ before you go out will help dissolve limescale but if pigpen's right and the glaze has gone.....

In an old house we lived in we used Spirits of Salts (Hydrcloric acid) It is available from hardware stores. You MUST use rubber gloves and open the windows wide. Get rid of the water and pour it in. DO NOT lean over it. Sounds awful but it works instantly!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

I would also make sure no other chemicals are added, DON,T mix any kind of Acid & Hypochlorite Bleach together (CHLORINE GAS CAN BE PRODUCED) , not forgetting put sign on toilet to stop any accidents.

The only thing I've found to work is the super strong toilet cleaner, Harpic Power Plus, I think? Doesn't even need a scrub just soaking for 30 mins or so is enough to get rid. I buy it when it's on offer____________________________________________
