I saw those posted over at AV Forums, but they're settings for the A656..is it the same TV as the A868?
Is "Alan CD" an ISF certified calibrator? If so, I'll have to look out for his posts.
Same settings yes.
Wether Alan himself is certified or not im unsure, but those settings are the proper ISF settings for that tv (on HIS setup obviously, they could vary on others a little):idea:0 -
You don't happen to know how they come up with these model numbers do you? It would be quite useful to be able to tell which ones are the same even though they have different model numbers. I know there are often retailer specific model numbers, which mean they can get away without matching prices on the same TVs ("sorry, that's the A666 - this one here's the A666-1"), despite claiming to do so.0

Marty ~ I swear I wish I knew
I only find out the odd ones as I go specifically looking for them. Further to that, the manufacturers seem to keep moving the damn goalposts too
If theres anything SPECIFIC you want finding out then ask away. But 'generally' theres far too many variables on hand:idea:0 -
No, I was just wondering in general, but thanks anyway.
It wouldn't be like them to make this kind of thing easy for us, would it?

Hell no. Its a constant (very annoying) battle

the only info i know or think i know about model numbers with samsung tvs is the first number tells you what series it is. well they have series 1, 2, 3 and so on. so in my tvs case as 6 is the first number it is series 6.
as far as the difference between the a656 and a686 goes i dont think there is really any difference. i believe the a686 is just an updated version because the a656 had some blurring issues. as far as i know the a686 doesnt need any new firmware installed. well i hope it doesnt i would hate it if my tv wasnt performing as well as it could because of a firmware issue i wasnt aware of.0 -
That's some useful info, thanks!0
