its weird really because aspects of sky hd are better than an upscaled dvd and other parts are worse.
i have just thought of something. you know how a sd picture looks worse with a sky hd box through the hd cable than what it does through the scart cable? would you describe that as a fuzziness? well it is similar to that but of course nowhere near as bad but i still think that something that is hd shouldnt have it even a tiny bit.
Do you use a cheap cr*p hdmi lead?:idea:0 -

I would be. Please do post it.
I first saw "2001" in "Cinerama" at the London Casino cinema in 1968. In "Cinerama" it was really amazing!

You've got an excellent television! From 36" upwards you reap the benefit of Blu-ray exponentially: you'll certainly notice the improvement in picture quality on that.
As it's a Samsung, you might want to buy one of these, while (if?) you still can.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Blade Runner looks pretty good

when I first got it I ran the DVD & Blu-Ray simultaneously & switched back & forward between the two, the difference was remarkable
what I'd like to try next is borrow another identical Blu-Ray player & play the two Blade Runners on them via HDMI, to see how much difference, if any, the upscaling makes to the DVD version
& another vote for how stunning the Dark Knight is :T0 -
Well I got home last night and put the BD in to the PS3. I was really excited. Got a nice cold drink from the cupboard. Turned the lights down low. Started playing Planet earth and boy was I disapointed! It didn't look any better than SD to be honest. My friend who was round suggested I use an optimisation disk to adjust the settings on my tv and my ps3. He said that would make a hell of a difference. What do you guys think? This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0

What tv do you have?
And yes, you need to 'calibrate' your tv and make sure the PS3 settings are correct
If you couldnt see any difference when the millions of birds are flying then something is 'clearly' not right:idea:0 -
Life Of Brian is surprisingly good on Blu Ray. The only downside is that the high definition does show up the lower-budget nature of one or two of the sets.
More recent animated stuff works particularly well. Wall-E gets another vote from me, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars is also very good.
I can't wait to see Blade Runner...0
