when does the patches started showing with you ?

thank you , i will wax since it will last me longer for my holiday

I hate to tell you this, but I wouldn't advise waxing either as it rips the hair out down to the root, so you'll have to wait a few weeks or so before it grows back long enough for the Smoothskin to be effective in treating it. I know that shaving is frustrating, but it's the best hair removal method between treatments.

As for when I started to experience the appearance of patches, I can't remember exactly, but it took a few sessions before I notice slightly less hair, then it went patchy after about 8 sessions or so. However, Smoothskin didn't work very well on me and the hair grew back completely within a few months.

Hopefully, someone who had more success with it will be able to answer your question better than me.

Last summer was the last time I spent time doing my lower legs (4-5 sessions) and there are still large bald patches down the fronts and I havn't used it on my legs, like I said since last summer. The hair that is still growing is coming back is softer and you can tell the folicles have been damaged because of the way it grows back. Underarms is a different matter though, that needs to be done weekly to maintain.

It's strange that different areas react differently.

I only did two sessions now , now its time for my third altough i had 2 weeks break , but every time i think about the pain sensation i leave it for the other day and so on
is there anything can you take like a tablet to relief the pain apart from alcohol, coz its so annoying and makes me tense :(

Thanks for all those who have posted about their experiences (good and bad). I'm thinking about buying the ipulse but not entirely convinced as yet (it's a lot of money if it doesn't work/although not if it does!).

I'd like to know among those who weren't happy with the results has anyone returned the unit and what was Boots response? I'd be interested to know, particularly if this was a substantial amount of time later like after the 12 recommended weeks.

Is it neccessary to use the gel? I'm finding it annoying to use and would rather just use it on my bare skin.

its very important to use the gel , its used for cooling and to see your pores, the area without gel will not be effective in responding to the laser

got one at the weekend, used it once so far, trying on underarms for now and will do legs in the winter (want to get a tan now!)

got it as a bargain - well £275 with the £50 off at mo, then used mum's boots card (over 60) so got a further 10% off as its a boots own product, so just over £245. Will report on progress!

Has anyone bought a machine called Viss? It looks like the treatment surface area is larger than the ipulse but can't see a price or power spec.

Wow. Interesting. There's an optional photorejuvenation cartridge with the Viss system, for treating enlarged pores and fine lines.

It's strange that it doesn't mention whether it can treat scars, as that is one thing that photorejuvenation is supposed to be a treatment for.
