    My update!

I have been using the Smooth Skin on one side of my body - to see more clearly the difference it was making - or not.

I have done 12 treatments now on just my right leg, and there is very little difference between my legs. Not sure if I am disappointed as I had already done zillions of treatments (perhaps 15 -20) on both legs, so it does mean that if you leave it a while after treating an area it wont get worse straight away. Perhaps I have reached optimum hair reduction now on my legs. They are not hair free – there are some hair free patches, and the hair grows back finer – although I still need to shave every 2/3 days (I wear skirts to work, and don’t like tights).

Bikini line is much better – the 12 treatments have made a big difference. It’s still not hair free, but it’s almost there and the hair growing back is much finer – I was very hairy before and got heaps on ingrown hairs (still get the odd one now).

I hadn’t done anything to my underarms before and the 12 treatments of my left underarm has made a difference – it’s not hair free AT ALL and I can only tell the difference the machine has made by comparing one to the other. Bit disappointed as other posters has great success in treating their underarms. Although this could have been a boots contributor.

I have worked in PR in the past and “ghost blogging” or ghost writing is very common now, and if often outsourced to a PR agency specialising in social (online) media.

Same thing here with the under arms. Reduction by about half and nothing else. Reduced to fornightly treatments but might reduce to monthly soon just to keep a top up like.

Had a bit of a break through with chin hairs I think.1 year down the line literally - plucked again after another 12 treatments and this time no regrowth for 3 weeks. And when it fid it was literally the odd hair here and there every 2-3 days. Much happier with this! :T

Just wondering if it worked as I'm tempted to buy one...the new one which has just come out which can also be used on the face? Any further info on it ie: is it painful? does it still over heat and burn? Does it work? would all be very much appreciated! Cheers

To be honest with you , i'm amazed with the results i just did 2-3 sessions and i had a break ( coz i have my period) but i noticed that i have lots of patches i never expected this quick results, i use medium option . but it works well with me :)
there is slightly heat sesnation for 1 second lol when the light flash but its ok you can bare it once you expect it

There is an article about women with unwanted facial hair:

    And a campaign:

There was a launch even last week.

I've had 3-4 sessions under the arms. It seems to make a difference in that I don't need to shave for a few days as opposed to the next day, BUT it's kind of worse, as I now seem to have a permanent shadow consisting of very dark hair dots, which seem to be the remaining stubble under the skin.

Does anyone know if this under skin stubble is supposed to be eventually disposed of by the body?

sorry if this has already been asked.. but is anyone still using the system when they've been out in the sun?? It says not to in the booklet but just wondering if anyone has and had it caused any adverse reactions???
It only seems kinky the first time.. :A

Having been brought up in the tropics, where you are trained to stay out of the sun, I don't tend to go in the sun for sunbathing. But I suspect it would effectively make you more prone to being sunburnt, having had a massive dose of strong light with the laser.

Definitely don't expose skin to the sun whilst you are treating it. If your skin becomes browner, then you risk suffering from hyperpigmentation (brown marks like age spots). I really wouldn't do it and would advise you to keep areas of treatment covered up.

who used it on legs? and how long does it take to do the lower or upper leg?

also important question , after what session did you start to notice the patches? because i saw big areas of patches (about 50% reduction) in the second session and i still cant believe my eyes!!

finally, i'm going on holiday to a hot country , i was thinking to bring it along with me to use it there but obviously i will have natural tan, do you think i can still use it there :( or i have to stop my treatment

It used to take me between 35-45 minutes to treat each lower leg.

The Boots website gives the following warning about sunbathing. Personally, I wouldn't think it worth risk hyperpigmentation by using the Smoothskin with a tan:

    "WARNING DO NOT:
Sunbathe, use sun beds or fake tan during the treatment and for at least two weeks after the last treatment."
