Was just thinking about starting up with this again today...I used it on Bikini line and it was quite effective...hair was growing slower, I don't think I got anymore than 7/8 weeks into it, but that area had become v patchy, and no ingrown hairs etc which I loved, so going to start up before it gets sunny again.

but....I've just been on the boots website, remember all those murmurs of £50 / £99 for a new handset...it is now on the website for £159.99! Can't believe it...I almost feel you may as well buy a whole new set for that prize, feels like a bit of a swizz! Luckily I don't need one yet, as I've been working on fairly small areas, and didnt do the 12 wks.

  • So today i did session 6 on my bikini line. New hair had begun to sprout but i wasn't too worried as iv read all about the hair growth cycle so thats to be expected. Its still a massive improvement down there. I used the med setting today though and i think it burnt a little, it really made me flinch and it feels a bit hot down there still. Last time i was fine on med so im not sure what was different today and im wondering if its perhaps because im due on my period soon.
I did my arms again 2 days ago, that was my 4th session on those. I still have some hair growing but my arms are showing amazing results after only one month and 4 treatments.
I DO NOT regret buying this one bit. It is very boring and it hurts a little bit but the results are visible. I don't know what i can expect after 12 treatments or in the long term so i will continue to update.

I've used it on my stomach and I have had hardly ANY regrowth from after just 2 sessions!
I've also used mine on my face and it's slowed down the growth but I'll have to keep on with it.
I've done 2 sessions on my underarms and that really hurts so I am very nervous about doing it again, but I spent a huge chunk of money on this thing so I must persevere.
Next up my bikini line *needs Dutch courage*.

I used it on my stomach recently also. And had minimal hair growth from session 1. Since then i've had practically no regrowth which is fantastic! (On session 5 this week coming) I have completed 1 treatment on my legs about 2-3 weeks ago and will do another next week. Slight patchy area here. Not convinced it will work as my legs have very thick hair. Time will tell ... Under arms is patchy but still growing. I am using this on fair - in fact I use it on fair everywhere now! My face is still pretty much the same although hair in patches seems to be growing a tad slower. Under chin again such good results left it a few weeks without zapping and noticed it coming back so need to keep at that. Been since last May since I started on my primary area the face. I will start bikini line soon ready for summer too. It's an odd thing this zapping I hate it and love it all in one!

Oh had a brain wave at 2am ... literally ... whilst lying awake. If we are treating a small area where skin is darker. And hair is say 1-2mm long --- anyone tried applying white eye liner to the skin (to make it lighter) then zap? At a guess the skin should be light and the dark hairs pop up over the top. Might be more effective? Might give that a go!!

    Hi

I have been thinking of buying one of these for a while now. I had just decided today to go ahead and buy it so I read the pdf document (additional info leaflet). It says that it should not be used by anyone on medication for depression (which unfortunately I am taking).

Does anyone know why this would be? Has anyone else used it while taking anti depressants? If so, did it cause a reaction?

    Thanks.

I'd say if the instructions warn you off using it, take it up with your doctor- it could be your medication thins your blood or puts stress on other organs....there are also certain types of medication which may be OK but others that may not be, eg SSRI's, MAOI's etc which all fall under the umbrella of "anti depressants" but act in different ways.

Maybe also email the company and see if they have any reasoning behind it and what it is- the last thing you want is to cause yourself irrepairable damage as well as a hole in your wallet!
  • My machine has just broken down . Both the green and red light (standby and ready) come on as I turn the devise on, and then start flashing manically. I have had it for 8 months now - I hope this doesnt mean the bulb has run out as I am nowhere near hair free - and have only treated my lower leg, armpits and bikini line.

Mine did that. Turned it off and on again, unplugged and replugged everything and it was then fine. If I sent mine back I would have sent it back at least 3 times by now lol. At least it works is the main thing and it doesn't damage me. It has "cracks" or gel down the inside, weird lights before and almost everytime a weird plasticy smell for the first few shots. Other to that all is well lol.

I've had mine replaced 2 or 3 times now. I had the same lights but restarting it solved it but I still got it replaced cos I'm a fuss-ar&e! and wanted to make sure it wasn't duff. Also replacing it then extends your warranty ladies! (+men maybe). I think it does anyway. Money saving top tip.
