Anyone tried Boots 'Smooth Skin' home IPL hair reduction system yet?

I seem to remember some people talking about using this on age spots? I've developed a few things that look like light brown freckles on the back of my hands, but I never had them before and worry they will become big, dark age spots.

If Smooth Skin could help with the spots, I might actually start to use it again. I did about 8 sessions on my legs last spring/summer and it seemed to slow growth but that only lasted a brief while. Can't bring myself to go through all the hours of doing it on my legs again. Could kick myself when I think of how much this thing cost! Doh!

Well im three sessions in on my forearms and bikini line. Hair growth has slowed but not stopped growing as yet. And now its overheating quicker than before and theres a blob in behind the glass head that wasnt there before so i think it leaked or something. Gonna have to bring it back im thinking. Its really boring to use but im gonna stick with it for a while more anyway, after i get a new one of course. Not gonna use faulty machine so Boots better swap it when i drag it over there, its quite heavy to carry imao

Well iv had 3 sessions on my bikini line and on my forearms. Well im not very sure how its working on my arms because that hair takes a while to grow in but on my bikini line iv noticed a slowing of hair growth and a few tiny bald patches but more on my right side than my left. Any result is better than no result so i will just press on with it i guess. Will update again after my 4th session. It really is quite boring though as the handset zaps are quite spaced which slows the whole thing down. I dont think i will ever use this on my legs as it takes over 15mins to do just one forearm and about half an hour for the bikini line. That said so far im pleased with the results and i did get a new machine swap from my boots store with no problems. Will be worth all the time, money and effort if i can get my bikini and arms smooth

Finished session 5 on bikini line today. I have to report that so far im really pleased with the results down there. Hair still growing but much slower and starting to look a bit sparse. And not getting any ingrowing hairs which is awesome. And my forearms which have only had three sessions are very improved. Hair growing really slowly there now and so much finer. Armpits have had 3 sessions and are also looking a bit sparse. Im thrilled as i feel so much more feminine already. I have to say that even if its not permanant and i have to keep using this to keep hair at bay i think its well worth it. Still boring but im not even having to do lots of sessions each week as hair growth is slowed. Concentrating on arms, armpits and bikini line. Not gonna bother with legs as i think it would take too long. I'll continue to update

Hi all
Thanks to all you who have been posting on here. I've read about half of the guide but theres a few questions I wondered whether someone could help me with :
* Does anyone leave there belly button bar in when using the machine to remove hairs on their stomach? I dont really like removing mine as I find it hard to get back in, but I dont think it would be safe to leave it in?
* I've only brought mine today, and havent had chance to use it and was just wondering whether it makes a loud noise when you use it. I dont really want my flat mates to hear it when I'm using it. A bit embarrassed about the whole thing really.

Lola it doesnt make a loud noise but it does make a noise when it zaps. Its enough to draw my young son's attention. Perhaps try use it when your flatmates are out if your really embarrased but i think if you go in your room and shut the door that would be enough.
Also body hair is something virtually all women have so try not to be too embarrassed. Your flatmates would probably be jealous of your new gadget.
As for the belly button ring i think as long as you stay at least two inches away from it with the zappy bit you would probably be okay. Don't zap near or over it to be on the safe side.

On the Boots site, it says the system is now for use on the face when you go to order the product. It gives no other info, even looked at the manual online and it had a page number for the face, but no info about using it on the face there, lol.

If you check the pdf document (additional information leaflet) at bottom of the smooth skin units page, this has information on how to use on face. Page 8 of the pdf document, page 15 of the actual leaflet.
