  • How long before your no longer a new member? Do you have to reach a certain number of reviews of do you have to have been a member for a certain lenght of time?

I've been leaving commets around 35 in total now and managed to read a few more reviews this evening. I'm finding the site really useful and interesting I've learnt about some great new products I'd never heard of. I think it will influence what I buy from now on.

You will have your new member badge for a month.

Thanks 1 months not too long, I've bought loads of new products in my weekly shop thanks to dooyoo this week.

I've rated about 200 more reviews than I have received ratings for (does that make sense?!)

I keep on returning rates and rating other random peoples', but I hardly getting any return rates. I have 17 reviews up, and can't muster up enough enthusiasm to write up another review just yet.

Any particular reason why I'm not getting many rates anymore?

I think it's fairly quiet on Dooyoo at the moment for rating, my reads have dropped off this weekend. Too many people enjoying the sun :D

Just keep at it, reads and rates fluctuate all the time.

  • Hello I'm new here and at a loss at what to do. I very recently joined dooyoo (I only managed to write one review), but have been suspended for what I see as an unfair reason. I am being absolutely honest here ok, all I did was rate one members review as "useful" (no not "not useful" or even "somewhat useful"), and left a comment saying I had found her review hard to read (it was very long, but it didn't make sense. I said that over using metaphors shouldn't be confused with "detail", and that using punctuation would help it to make more sense). The next thing I know I get an e-mail telling me my account had been suspended for rating unfairly! I could understand it more if it had been a low raating, but suspended for rating a review "useful"?????? Do I have to rate all reviews as very useful even when they make no sense to avoid this? Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest you contact the dooyoo guide and explain yourself as per above, if it was only for one review and you genuinely found the review unhelpful you should not be penalised. However if you have 'targeted' a particular reviewer, which it doesnt sound like you have they will remove you.
It is also possible that as you have only written one review they may have thought the account was set up with discrediting this reviewer in mind. Hopefully they will reactivate your account but avoid rating that reviewer again. Good Luck :o

There are a certain group of long term users that complain to Dooyoo about every rating they get that's not VU. So contact Dooyoo and tell them that U is not a bad rating and was your honest opinion.

TBH Dooyoo have been pretty carp about abuse lately and are cow towing to certain groups and letting them get away with murder.

Hmmm...I am not convinced this is the case, but if this were dooyoo's reasoning then I would be very disturbed. I do not know how dooyoo could possibly judge whether a particular member has been "targeted" or not. In fact even if Miss Kettle only read one review and rated it useful, it does not mean that anybody was "targeted". It could be, and is far more likely to be, coincidence. Same re the discrediting, how could dooyoo possibly know whether the intention was to discredit a particular user? I don't believe that they could and thus I fail to see how the rules have been broken.

Most members are in the situation at some point where they have only written one review and rated a few, it does not mean that there is something untoward.

I am incredulous that somebody would be thrown off the site for rating Useful.

It would depend on how many of this member's reviews you had rated I suppose. If it was only the one, I find it a little worrying that dooyoo would remove your account...however if you had rated several of the user's reviews it could be perceived that you had targetted them, especially if they hadn't read your work and you hadn't rated a lot of other members' work.

I honestly don't know how dooyoo deal with abuse like this and all I can advise is if you are genuinely aggrieved you contact them for more information.

    Miss--K,

I am a guide on dooyoo. If you would like me to help find out what has gone on here then let me know and I'll see what I can do. Dooyoo would be unlikely to suspend for rating U (save for very limited circumstances) so I suspect that there may be more to it than that (or mistake?)

send me a PM with your user name if you want me to help.
