If I have thought about a review beforehand I can happily write in excess of 3-400 words in about eight minutes, including all the features that one would expect from a review. Due to this, it is possible for me to read around as well.
What I think is really daft however, is that we are rewarded when other members read our posts. Surely, it is better for dooyoo to attract readers that are not members of the site?! It also seems a little false to go reading other people's reviews just because you feel like you need to keep your reads up. Where is the point in doing that for dooyoo? I just find it hard to see why they pay out... not that I'm complaining !
If we didn't have the current system, then where's the incentive to read and rate around the site? We'd just get people who post 20 reviews per day and don't give anything back to the site. Trying to do the same thing using non-members is nigh on impossible. At least members can be tracked around the site.
Re: feeling false... it's only false if you're reading absolutely everything. If you stick to the stuff you're interested in or the stuff you want or need to know about, then it's not false at all as your rates will have value to them. The site's 9 years old or thereabouts. There's plenty on the site for you to read and still stay within your interests.0 -

Personally, I'd include it in your profile and not within the review. My personal opinion is that you keep the review for the thing you're reviewing. Anything else can go in your "About me".0 -

Me, I would add it to the bottom of a review, at least until you're established...and that's what Dooyoo recommend, though I do see CF's point of view.

I see it as padding the review, so I report people for it.
I don't really.0 -
Just been discussing Dooyoo with my SIL we both think that in hte last month the site has really gone downhill.
At the moment there is a uber churner on something like 30 (very poor quality)reviews yesterday alone and it looks like she will "better" that total today. And from what we can see is also a revenger rater-winner all round then!
This really puts people off the site. My wife has been a member for almost a year and has enjoyed it so much has had been nagging me to join. (I resisted) and got her sister and another SIL involved, they have all stopped posting recently which is a shame.
This kind of churner really spoils it for "proper" members that are really committed to the site.
Sorry for the rant but i wish Dooyoo would DO something.0 -

Churning is not against the site rules. It's against the community rules that have evolved over the years, but ultimately, churning is not abuse per se. If you want to be sneaky, check out a few of the churners reviews. Dooyoo ask for 150 words of valid opinion, so lists of ingredients, specifications, track lists etc. don't count towards the 150 word limit. Churners often ignore this, so can get their reviews removed that way.
However, ravenge rating is abuse. If you see ANYTHING out of line, then contact the Dooyoo Team. They have a presence on the site, so hunt it out. There's an email address somewhere, too. Just be aware that hard and fast abuse (speed clicking, multiple accounts etc. is more likey to be policied than community abuse - bullying etc.)
You can also contact a guide, but I don't think I'm out of line in saying that some guides are feeling a bit disillusioned with guiding life at the moment because of the perceived lack of action taken against a member that has been bullying, revenge-rating and generally making themselves a pain in the backside for the last month.0 -

Thanks for that. Will pass the info on. It really is a shame that the site feels different at the moment(although I am not a member I live through ALL of the ranting, the "thats it I'm done with dooyoo", the "Have you SEEN whats going on?" etc\etc:rotfl:
I may not be a member but I feel as though I have lived through every Dooyoo incident recently!0 -

Well I think there is no need for anyone to be put off writing by a churner, or by a few extremely weird women ranting away about U ratings on their About Me's.
Just tell you relatives not to take any notice..you always get some nutters in the online world.0 -
hi all! just joined dooyoo, apparently Im not a very good reviewer, but endeavour to become better! Anyone know why a review would be locked?

Chances are, Dooyoo don't think your review matches their rules on writing which pretty much says that 150 words of the review has to be your own work and opinion, so if you've included technical specs, instructions, ingredients, track listings etc. to make up 150 words, then that's not allowed.
You should be able to update your review, so just make some changes to it, add more of your own opinion and feedback and experiences and you should be OK.0
