I have quite a large number of miles accumulated, none due to expire, however sometimes I notice the total number of miles reduces, not by very much maybe 15, 30 or 45. Is this usual?
Maybe the person whose review you rated had it locked/deleted or something? Or was banned (etc). Have you had a look on the FAQs? I've definitely read something like that somewhere!0 -

Yes bc3000 is correct, this is almost certainly due to somebody else's account being closed by dooyoo.0 -

You get 500 points for every review in paying categories, the ones that do not pay are speakers corner and archived categories. In addition to this you get 15 miles per member read and if you write a review that is crowned then you get another 1,500 points.0 -
I have 2240 miles. I have written 4 reviews (so that's 2000 miles), 10 people have rated my reviews and I have rated 29 reviews so far. So is my miles balance right? Last week when I was rating peoples reviews my miles balance went up but it isn't today...[STRIKE]CC1: £354.35 / £354.35[/STRIKE]

You don't get miles for rating other people's reviews. From what you have said, I would break your miles down into; 2000 for writing, 150 from the people that rated you and then you must have had a few people that read your reviews but did not rate it for some reason. You get miles for reads not rates.0 -
Thanks for that! Don't know why I was getting so confused... I thought I'd read somewhere you get miles for rating reviews which I thought was a bit odd.[STRIKE]CC1: £354.35 / £354.35[/STRIKE]

Yep, Pumpkinface is right, also most of the time people will return your rate, which means that maybe 50%+ of your rates will be returned, so rating others is sort of paid but not really, if you get me?!0 -

I think that's slightly misleading. Not everyone directly "returns reads" and most, if not all of the guides around the site will not give out such advice... this seems to be a point of view that's evolved out of sites such as MSE where people need the money.
Quite a lot of people say they'll return reads, but what they mean is that they'll return VU rates, so if you rate them less than VU you don't get a return rate.
It helps everyone if people read more than they get read, but other than that, it shouldn't matter who you read, as long as you're rating honestly per your own requirements of a review.0 -
I haven't rated it, because I'm afraid it'd get an NU from me because the category is the Ashton View Medical Centre, and the review is not about the centre.
Thanks for reading
Dooyoo told me to do it that way, to review that service at the practice they wouldn't add the circumcision service alone as it did not have a direct link online.
I'll take a look now to see if I can improve it I have mentioned the centre, its location, problems parking but perhaps should add more. For thousands of people this Christmas, their must-have gift is far more vital than the latest gadget or toy – it’s blood. Please don’t let the festivities and cold weather prevent you from giving them the ultimate gift… give blood.0
