I am suprised that a supporter of even slight vegetarian concepts should be so aggressive in bad-mouthing clearly put opinions.

It's "affect" by the way, with an A.
It's "surprised", by the way, with an "R".

    Love it...

Have you any idea what a linguistic, logical and moral oxymoron the concept of "vegetarian meat" actually is? A total nonsense. And in my opinion (having been fed it under false pretences once), not worth eating even if starving.

There are so many DELICIOUS vegetarian foods from around the world, so why not have the courage of your convictions and discard the concept of meat altogether?

Another thought: what's the carbon footprint of this manufactured "food" versus (say) beans or pulses?

(My first post so in at the deep end eh!)
Leave it out James_N or is that Bono!!!!

Your opinions are your's but what makes you think you have the moral high ground to tell people to eat meat, not eat meat, eat quorn, not eat quorn etc?

You obviously feel very self-satisfied to lecture others.
Please remember James_N this is only moneysavingexpert.com and is not i'msmugandknowbetterthenyou.com

I'd like to thank everyone who's pitched-in with money saving ideas past and present and hasn't tried to lecture me on my life but has just tried to help.

    Peace and love. X :A

p.s. We as a species are meat eaters... our eyes are in the front of our heads(hunters) and our teeth have incisors for tearing flesh.
The veggie species have eyes at the side of there head and have more molars for chomping vegitation.

    Charlie Darwin is the man.

Don't think Bono 'does' meat... James_N, however, probably does.

As much as I think the thread is interesting, and a chance to plug the original offer (Iceland anyone?) I have to repeat to what I previously said in the thread to James_N: can we please keep it on topic here- its Grabit folks, remember? James_N has already backed down and not commented any further, I think it would be wise to follow that...:o

Dunno if it's been mentioned (I got a bit lost with the thread drift...)
ASDA have tins of Branston soya beans in chili sauce for 19p - they're usually about 65p.

  • Thanks Emma - been to Iceland and stocked up, and I don't think the Quorns have been fed growth hormones!

Read it now! I take back what I said!
Obvioulsy he not an adult (or at best an immature one as he refuses to allow the fact that not everyone on this planet thinks the same way, does the same things and have the same likes/dislikes... ) but anyway!

Maybe we should all drop it and let him kick off by himself, it just seems he is out for attention and you know how these things work: any attention is better then no attention...etc Why continue to play ball?

And back to Topic, aside from ...
Iceland selling the quorn frozen peices or quorn mince at 99p
Sainsburys selling the quorn bangers (6 pack) for 79p (and think the quorn meat balls are on offer?)
Tescos selling the fresh Quorn steaks at £1.18 (£1off)

Has anyone else seen any offers?
