Have you any idea what a linguistic, logical and moral oxymoron the concept of "vegetarian meat" actually is? A total nonsense. And in my opinion (having been fed it under false pretences once), not worth eating even if starving.

There are so many DELICIOUS vegetarian foods from around the world, so why not have the courage of your convictions and discard the concept of meat altogether?

Another thought: what's the carbon footprint of this manufactured "food" versus (say) beans or pulses?

Some people eat Quorn products as they are lower in fat and other things in cmparison to real thing itself.... they may not even be 'Vegetarian' in the first place but want to eat healthier, I know lots of people that do this!

Have you stopped to think about the people who worry about whats in their food, and how it hygienic it is etc. Think of Foot & Mouth, Bird Flu, BSE just to name a few and then even though it doesn't knowingly effect humans its a disgusting thought.

People are just trying to do their food shopping, get off you high horse and let them be as for carbon footprints, people are going to go out and buy the products and they always will is your say-so going to make any difference!? No.
  • There's one in Cheadle on the high street. :j

Thankyou, might have a drive down!
  • making bolognese with quorn is much better than with real mince. It compliments the sauce beautifully and really fills you up a treat. I eat a lot of vegetables, but you often get fed up with having to dress them up in different ways. Quorn's good because there's no messing around. Throw in. stodge up.
  • actually, the quorn chickendtyle fillets are really awesome as well. MMM.
  • and um... syn free on green days on slimming world! okay, i'll shut up about quorn now.

For many vegetarians getting a low fat, high protein source of food is difficult.

Well- that would be because we were made / evolved (having raised the ire of veggies I am not going to risk the evolution debate too) as ominvores - so getting nutrition from all sources is the way we are made, and eating a total vegetarian (or worse vegan) diet is a threat to health at the most basic measure.

You suppose that "manufactured" food is automatically healthier or safer? Why?
I am suprised that a supporter of even slight vegetarian concepts should be so aggressive in bad-mouthing clearly put opinions.

It's "affect" by the way, with an A.

I'm sure there's forums elsewhere for you to go ranting and raving about a simple suggestion I made, may i kindly suggest you remove whatever obsticle is blocking your arsenal from your vegetarian elbow

Hint:I think the clue is in the name of the website moneysavingexpert.com, where people are allowed to use the forum to advise others of special offers that they have seen which may be of interest to people who wouldn't otherwise know of their existance.

    Yours truly

OMG, Why even post that? are you trying to seek attention? seriously, all the OP did was state a running (and good) offer, so you thought you would come along and add your opinion....why post that?? Unnecessary!

And just for your own piece of mind (not that I think you care) I buy quorn as I like the taste. Its one of my favorite foods and at its normal price it costs too much for me to have more than once in a blue moon.
