can someone explain the "burn meter" on the calorie counter site. I put in an activity which burnt 445 cals but up in the blue square it says 1150 cals  and the total estimate is 2290

Sorry, I've never got my head round the burn meter, so I just ignore it and aim for my target calories. I do log my activity though as even though I don't understand the burn meter, inputting activity does motivate me to move around a bit more.

I've not been very good at inputting the data since I got back from hols, and it has definitely had a detrimental effect - I'm just one of those people who needs the focus

So as of today I'm back on the website counting my calories

Right I haven't lost any weight. But I haven't gained any (silver lining !)

I have stopped using my works canteen though. I am throughly fed up with it ...... and worse when i don't fancy whatever the 3 meal options are (usually a curry / somesort of meat, potato & two veg / veggie omelette) I end up grabbing something from there mix&match bar ..... usually sausage, chips and beans

So have achieved a week of making&eating packed lunches. Bored of ham sandwiches already  However determinded to carry on. (any suggestions welcome)

I always make extra for my tea then take it to work the next day to heat up in the microwave. It stops me from eating too much bread which slaps the weight on in my case!

Sorry not checked in for a while - I have tried to be good.

Yesterday I had agreed to help out the conservatives with a petition outside a local college, I had planned to get the bus - well the bus got so far and broke down:mad: so I decided to walk there instead - so had a good brisk walk about 1.5 miles (down hill) to the college but did get a lift back.

Sometimes I have been naughty with food - last night I did a few oven chips with burgers in baps with salad - trouble is after eating one burger I couldnt eat the rest of the dinner so I am hoping to ressurrect it by nuking the remainder tonight:rolleyes: I hate waste.

Have been racing around places - walking briskly here there and everywhere - I had lunch out on Monday as part of a mystery shop so only had an egg n cress sandwich (granary bread) and a caramel macchiato (my first but not my last:rolleyes: ). Bought some very dark green & blacks chocolate too - the cherry variety and a small bar of their Mayan Gold (spicy choc) and I have been eating a few squares of the cherry one - I can make it last a week:D

My trousers are a bit looser and my tummy is a bit flatter so something must be working:j

Just nipping back in, have had no time to focus on this at all but since we're into the last week of the month I'm hoping to at least have some weight loss to demonstrate :) I am hoping to get the courage up to weigh myself tomorrow, watch this space.

well done to everyone who's managing to stick with it.

stacyl1977, I hope you resisted the choccie biccies!!! I must admit to a moment of temptation in Tesco today, I was standing in front of the biccies drooling and had to mentally wrestle myself away (not physically, that might have been a bit disturbing for the other shoppers! :rotfl: )! I have eaten ok today, probably slightly too much - but I've walked to and from work and also gone to the gym (burned 300 calories, quite hard going today). So not too bad. I'm aiming for another walk this evening.

gillz83 - polefit sounds like fun! :D How often do you go and what do you do at it?

LazyDaisy - good for you going back to the calorie counter, hope it works for you. Having a focus and seeing the numbers is helpful.

Leothecat - well done on the 1.5lb loss, that's great. :T Sorry to hear that things aren't good at home, we're here anytime for you or you can PM if you'd prefer. Big hugs to you xoxoxoxo

nickynoo, good luck with the running, that's great that your mum is going with you as well! :j

SDH - my canteen is the same (do you work in my building? :rotfl: ). Keep at it with the packed lunches and make sure you keep them varied and interesting. What sort of lunchy foods do you like? I take a mixture of leftover dinner like Rotherham Lass (so handy!), HM soup, salads, pittas and sandwiches. Sometimes it's just beans on toast (yummm). HTH.

smallpackages - go for it! :D And come back and tell us. Don't be discouraged by the result, if you are exercising every day it will come off sooner or later! I have been disheartened so often on this challenge but am finally starting to see results... after 3 months mind!

Horace - well done on all the walking and the looser clothes! It's a great feeling and very motivating! :T

belfastgirl, good luck with the weigh in and keep us posted. I didn't weigh in this morning (was in a rush to get to work) but will do so tomorrow, fingers crossed for good news.

Oops, mega post! I think I covered everyone, keep up the good work ladies! :)

Polefit is an exercise class, using pole dancing moves, no sleazy dancing or gyrating up the pole lol. Its really hard, and very toning but need to do cardio to burn fat, Im advanced now so do things like go upside down and hang off the pole with one leg :T Can be very hard but I like a challenge :) Most cites have pole fitness classes, Im in glasgow tho.
