:hello: Hello, well i managed to lose that stubborn 1LB - FINALLY!!!
So at least i've hit the 1.5 stone loss that i've been trying to hit over the past couple of weeks!!
Going to be REALLY good next week, (at least there won't be any choccies to tempt me - thank god! I've not got much willpower where chocolate is concerned!)
I will go swimming again this week with DD, although i could do with actually swimming more and messing around less! will have to rope one of her friends to come with us so that i can get a few lengths in....mmm....why didn't i think of that before!
Anyway thanks for all the encouragement ladies, especially TARA, it is much appreciated!!
Off to update siggy now.
Have a good week all

I love to save money0 -
yeah Tara I agree - it's such a false economy! I'm a good couple of inches taller than that, and the same weight and only just fitting into a 10. In all honesty I'd be more comfortable in a size 11 - so there's no way someone 4 inches smaller than me, weighing roughly the same could fit into an 8! Unless it's an american size 8! Which half the time I think they are just to make it seem more of an achievement!

Well done to everyone this week! Whatever your achievements, you are doing well to stick with it!
I have really got back into calories counting now. It is the only thing that works for me, and I have to log everything I put into my mouth. After a while I think 'I can do this' and I dont bother counting... and it is a disaster!
I am weighing in on Tuesday this week, as it is the last day of the month. I really really really want to drop below 11st 10lb this week.
I tend to hit a barrier and bounce for a while (12st 4lb, and 12st were the recent ones). So it seems like every four pounds I get stuck and yoyo for a while before I break through to the next level :cool: So anyway... I am focussing on breaking the 11st 10lb barrier this week and closing in on 11st 6lb.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Wooohooooooo!!!!!
I am 11st 9lb today!! YEEESSSSSS!!!
Actually I am not going to celebrate too soon because I could bounce back up, but it is a good start. Experience tells me that if I can keep going down at this stage, it will stay off, so I am really going for it, am feeling really positive about the remainder of the month (I'll do my last weigh in on Tuesday.... just to squeeze an extra day in....)
Good luck to you all, especially those who find the weekends difficult. One last push now for the end of the month....

I thought I'd share my favourite salad recipe, as for me it is the secret to success when I'm calorie counting. I have listed all the ingredients in multiples of 100 gm just to make it easy, but of course you can adjust the quantities, and add/subtract ingredients from the basic mix
This recipe makes a big bowl that lasts me two days.
100g green grapes, halved.........................................................................70
2 medium red apples chopped with skin on (90 cals each)....................... 180
100g spring onions chopped......................................................................30
100g celery chopped.................................................................................20
2 medium carrots, grated (35 cals each).....................................................70
5 pickled gerkins, sliced.............................................................................30
300g carton low fat cottage cheese...........................................................270
2 tablespoons Hellmans light mayo............................................................ .90
Total cals 760
Blend the cott cheese and mayo in a blender, mix in the rest of the ingredients, add garlic, herbs, black pepper if liked, and mix well. The cott cheese and mayo blended makes a really low fat creamy dressing, but you can substitute low fat yogurt for the mayo or even leave it out if you like.
You dont have to add much to the basic mix to make a meal (just remember to count the calories of the extra ingredients) eg
A sprinkling of strong grated cheese
Tuna
new potatoes
cooked pasta
hard boiled egg
lettuce, cucumber and tomato
etc
Thats made me hungry and I polished off the last of my salad for breakfast, so I'm off to the shop now to stock up with provisions.....
Hope this helps someone to shift a few pounds!

hi there i've stuck to the exercise and calorie allowance so far but have pms now and soo tired and flat today. anyway decided to have a leisurely day. hadnt eaten v much by dinner time and everyone else was having chinese. does anyone know the calories that are in szechuan chicken? i had a third of the chicken and a third of the boiled rice no batter on the meat:rotfl:"that grady! won't sit next to a black child in church! but eats eggs, shoot right out a chickens !!!!!!" from fried green tomatoes:rotfl::smileyheaMSE is where my friends live :smileyhea0

Well done SP! That is what I do when I REALLY want something that I know would be calorie laden, I have half the portion I normally have. It sounds like a good choice, chicken is fairly low in cals and boiled rice is a healthy option too. I don't know about the sauce, but if you didn't have too much hopefully not too much will end up on your hips!
You have to live, and TOTM is always a rotten time if you are trying to lose weight, so be gentle with yourself xxxxI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Thanks for all the 'well dones' much appreciated.
Fluffybishop - well done you 3lbs that's fantastic.
Crapwithmoney - a size 12 down to a size 10 IS a major achievement. It was what you were aiming for, so good on you. You must be so proud of yourself.
Tara - Hope you have a fantastic weekend with your friends. I know what you mean about the before and after stories. We all know they are lying. You are right, I would shout from the roof tops if I went from a size 20 to a size 12, as I will when my dress size goes from the start 18 to the finish a size 14. Already down to size 16, some nearly falling off, but don't think I will get much below size 14 as I have fat thigh syndrome! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Poshstock - Well done on shifting that 1lb. 1 and a half stone is my next goal, 5lb to go.
Lazydaisy - thanks for the salad recipe. The dressing sounds nice. i will give it a go tomorrow. My problem with salad has always been the dressing. I love them, lots of them and lots of it!!!!!
I've been a right pig tonight. DH has gone out, wound me up before he went, so I ate lots of the kids jelly sweets and lots of pringles. Why do I do it!!! Tomorrow will be really good. Weetabix for Brekky, Soup for lunch and roast chicken with veg for dinner. Hopefully that will make up for it.
One week to go until me and my friend go to see Flashdance at the theatre. I'm excited for various reasons, 1. My friend (one of my best) now lives about 50 miles away and we don't see each other very much. 2. I'm going to see Flashdance. 3. We are going for dinner after. 4. I'M GOING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway off to bed, the clocks go forward tonight so technically it's after midnight now, and I will be cream crackered in the morning!!!
Night night, have a nice weekend.
