Lilmissemmylou - Well done on flying through the uni work!!
Don't be too disappointed at maintaining! - Managing not to put weight on when all your focus is elsewhere is no main feat!!
Tara - How was the meal out with OH? Well done on keeping up the exercise!!And you're right - just think how much worse off we'd all be, if we went back to our old ways!! I'm sure that bikini bod is just arounf the corner for ye!!
Ailuro2 -:j Well done on the 3lbs loss!! And even bigger well done on abstaining from the chocolate!! I'm in awe of your self control!!
Taffy - Well done on the 2lbs off! How did you get on with the exercise? Just think how much weight you'll lose now you're upping the ante!!
KJM - Sorry you're feeling ill - hope you manage to hold onto a few of those lbs you've lost when you're recovered - at least that'd be a wee silver lining for ye!!
SDH - How was the wedding? Hope you had a good day!! The dress sounded lovely!! But boo to the yo-yo dieting!! Like Tara said, it's ok for a one-off quick fix - but it's no way to live!!
Lazydaisy - He still had chocs left over from Chrimbo?! Well done on dropping the dress sizes - after all I'm sure we'd all be happy enough, if the scales were going up, but the dress sizes down!! Thanks for the tip on the Asda jeans - I'm quite high waisted myself - and also a bit hippy!! So, all these low slung jeans just do me no favours at all!!
Poshstock - :j :T Well done again on the loss - almost seems like an empty phrase for you now, since we're having to say it so often!! You're putting us all to shame!!
Horace - Good news that you're shrinking!! :j :T :rotfl: Sorry your mouth's sore though! It any better today?
Stacy - Thanks for the lovely post!! You're right, we should all be working towards a better PMA!! Good luck on your latest quest - sounds like you're taking a very pragmatic approach, so I'm sure it'll work out just grand!!
Dragon - Well done on hitting the 1500 calorie mark!!Fingers crossed you'll have a few more days like that to come!!
Nickynoo - Sorry you're feeling ill - hope you feel better soon!!
Rotherhamlass - COngrats on the 1/2 lb off - just goes to show that sometimes a little of what you fancy does ye good!!
Fluffybishop - (Last - but defo not least!!) - sorry you didn't get a better result this week! You've got the right attitude sticking with it though - sometimes it just seems to take a week or 2 to take effect!
and finally me - I'm not quite sure how I managed it, but this week I've lost 2lbs!!Although i'm defo not complaining!! At 10 Stone 2lbs, that takes me to a new low!! :j (I think anyway!). I'm drawing a line under all the lovely food I had last week, and the diet starts (again!!!) today!! So far today, I've had a yoghurt (WW Low fat - I am trying to cut down on things which contain Aspartame - but I can't do without the yog in the morning as I'm just too hungry then, and from tara's experience it doesn't look as though a full fat is the way to go!!), and a banana and a cup of peppermint tea, and I'm just working my through my 2L's of water for the day!!
Lunch I think will be poached egg and toast, and dinner will be something I can re-heat in the micro - since I finish my 1st job at 5, and start the second a 5.30 - so will need something I can eat quickly in my break!!
Have a good day all!! - Sorry for the long-winded rambling posts! And even sorrier if I've missed anyone out!!

the trick for me was to take one small issue at a time, work at improving it, then move onto something else!

Hi Leo - first, big hugs, you are having a hugely hard time at the moment, emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially. Please don't beat yourself up about the things you feel bad about, but as CwM says, look for the positives. If you can, try to practice smiling even when you don't feel like it. I have found that if I smile and allow myself to enjoy the little things in life, I become happier and more positive. It is as if the action of smiling changes the way I feel.
Also I second CwM's advice to deal with things in small bite sized chunks. You cannot deal with everything, if you try you are at risk of not succeeding, and then giving up. But if you set yourself one small task, and get it done, you will feel that you have achieved something, and then you will begin to believe you can cope with the next small task, and the next.
That Is why I started the half stone challenges. Because try to lose ALL THAT WEIGHT seemed like an impossible feat, but focussing on just losing half a stone has made it manageable.

hey folks
sorry i've not been around i was visciously attacked by the lurgy!!! so diet went well and truly to pot last week. Barely left the house, all thought of going to the gym was squashed with hacking coughs and leaky nostrils, not to mention that joyous full body ache that you get from a really good virus! Good news is i spend most of the week living on soup coz my throat was so sore, but the bad news is i'm the only member of my family with tonsils so they were constantly on at me to have toast/crisps/breadsticks anything dry and coarse to build up my throat and carbs just are not my friends, they immediately convert to dough and catapult themselves onto my thighs and that lovely chunk of lard that sits at the bottom of your spine but above the backside!
...... but i suppose the scales will show all when i go the gym tonight, please let it be 19 stone or less, that would make me soooooooo happy!!!!

aaawww dragon, the weirdest things can have that effect:
1, eating too much salt, so you retain water.
2, not drinking enough water, so yet again you retain what already in

Good afternoon all!
I lost 3 lbs last week bringing my total to 5lbs lost. I was quite happy about that, until I had a good look in the mirror...I still have a long, long way to go!!
On Saturday we went on a bike ride, but I'm suffering for it. My tailbone is very painful-does anyone have any suggestions to make bike riding more comfortable? Up until 6 months ago I rode for about a hour 2-3 times a week. I gave it up due to the pain.
Thank you to the person who posted about the jeans from Asda. I'm going to have to have a look at them as I can't get on with low rise jeans.
I went for my 5 mile walk this morning, will do my Davina DVD Wednesday morning, and another walk on Friday. In between I'll do wii fit, and if the weather cooperates, do some work in the garden.
As far as eating...my time of the month is fast approaching and it is my downfall. I'm going to try to eat as healthy as possible, but it seems the older I get the worse it is to acheive that goal.
I hope everyone has a healthy week! :cheesy:0 -
Cymbaline I understand you can buy gel seats for bikes which makes life a lot easier! - well done on the loss by the way :jDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Hi Dragon, commiserations that really is a bummer! As someone else has said, is it TOTM? I used to regularly put on half a stone that week.
Well I had my Monday weigh-in today ... the good news is that I have lost all the weight I put on last week.... the bad news is that I am now still only at my March starting weight (which due to my extended holiday was also my Feb starting weight)
So we are halfway through the month and I am effectively back on the starting blocks! However, I had a session with a personal trainer at the gym the other day and she showed me how to use some of the machines to allow for my mobility problems. She also showed me how to use dumbells sitting and lying down to tone and strengthen my arms, chest and abdominal muscles. The exercises were slow and easy and didn't stress my neck or back, or my joints, so I felt that was a step in the right direction. Whether it will help with the weight loss is doubtful as I dont think I'm burning many calories, but if it helps tone up the flabby bits I'll be a happy bunny.
I keep hitting 11 stone 10lbs briefly before bouncing back up. I can't seem to get below it. But I had the same experience with 12st 4lb, and with 12st, and once I did manage to crash through the barrier, I stayed below it. So I am determined to break through that this week and get those scales moving again!
Good luck for this week everyone!! xxxxxxxxxI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Nope not TOTM the thing that does this is medication and not eating - I have tried to combat the 2nd part (~got over a thousand again today folks!) - oh and stress as well!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
