I have been to aquagym three times this week. My weight is sticking at the moment but my clothes are definitely more comfortable. I was a TIGHT 16 when I started the challenges on 1st Dec, and am now a comfy 14. In fact I need to wear a belt or I have to keep hitching them up. So I must be doing something right!
Just to let you know, for anyone with a high waist (like me) or who just prefers the waist of their jeans not to sit on the flabbiest bit of their tummy (like me!) ASDA have some great jeans in. They are lycra stretch bootcut jeans and the inside waistband is lined with blue and white stripe material. They are SOOOOOoooo comfortable and easy to wear. I can't remember the price, but about £10 I think, or maybe £12.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hi all
I am wishing that I hadnt had that semolina on Friday because I burnt my mouth, I swear I have a huge swelling in my mouth although it has gone down a bit as today I applied some ice cream to it.
Last night I had a battered scallop, a cone portion of chips and a small sausage from the chippie - I didnt eat all the chips either. This morning didnt eat much, had no lunch (except for some free climpies from swizzles matlow) and tea tonight was some ice cream followed by a sandwich. My mouth feels very uncomfortable where I burnt it so I might just have to go to the dentist tomorrow to see if he can sort it out. The swelling has been so bad that it obstructed my tongue although the application of ice cream has reduced it somewhat.
Had a lift to the NEC from a chum who had driven up from Gosport but we walked from the carpark to the Hall, walked around the show and then we went our separate ways - her to her car and me to the railway station to get a train home, walked home from my local station too so I have had plenty of exercise today.
I hope my mouth feels better tomorrow - I don't feel able to eat hot food at the mo and I will need to cook the chicken thighs that I took out of the freezer yesterday.0 -
((((((((((((Horace))))))))))))))))
Hope your mouth feels better soon.
Try sucking an ice-cube - fewer calories than Ice cream:D

Well I have lost 11lbs in 10 days, mainly down to illness though. I am itching to get back into my exercise, I just can't do it at the moment because of this stupid cough. I will have to walk a few miles today for the school run but that will be it.
How is everyone else doing?Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
Well, today was a really bad day of eating (I got through an entire large pot of Greek yogurt, 700 calories and 55g fat, dear God!).
Whit?! 55g's of fat - just in a yoghurt? Good god!! I hope it was extra yummy Tara!I knew normal yoghurt's could be high in fat - but would never have expected it to be that high!

My weigh in day was Saturday and I couldn't have worked harder last week on the diet and exercise regime, but I didn't lose a single thing
It does go that way sometimes, so I shall keep up the same schedule this week and maybe I will have a good loss this week.
Really annoying though :mad:0 -
I need help. These last few days have been terrible. I am definitely a comfort eater and when things are not going well, I stuff my face. My husband and I split at the end of January (after 20 yrs together) and things have not been easy. I thought that I was coping well but obviously I am not.
Although I have been running this week as normal, in work I have been caving in and having the treats along with the others. At home, once DD is in bed I am having crisps and chocolate. I think it's a vicious circle - I suffer from low self esteem and have a severe lack of confidence. In my head I think 'well I'm already disgusting, what difference is a packet of crisps gonna make?' Except of course, it's never just 1 packet, is it?
Ok, today I'm going to try very very hard not to eat crap this evening once DD goes to bed. I am running this afternoon and before that I have promised DD that we can go to the park to practise her cycling. That involves and lot of running along beside her and holding the bike etc so hopefully that will help.
Sorry for the depressing post!
Leo - Firstly ((((((Big Hugs)))))) to you! I'm sorry to hear you're having such a hard time - life can't half get a bit rocky at times!!
Please be assured that you're not disgusting at all! Breaking up with your hubby was a huge life changing decision, and one which must have taken tremendous strength and courage! So what if you make yourself feel better by having the odd bar of chocolate? You've made some other really positive steps by starting the running! Even just getting yourself out of bed in the morning and keeping things as normal as possible for your wee one when times are tough for you - is a tremendous achievement - and more than some people manage!
Put the food aside for a minute - focus on everything else in your life and write down all of the positives - and even just from reading your posts - I'm convinced you'll find a pretty long list!!
What you eat, and how you look as a result of that, are only a tiny aspect of your life - although from my own experience I can sympathise with how sometimes it can seem a much bigger issue than it is!
I would say that this is probably the first time in my life where I haven't suffered from low esteem - and that's only because I've spent the last year systematically working my way through the things in my life I wasn't happy about. the clincher for me was my dad dying last year, I felt so low all the time, and decided one day that it was only me who could do anything to change that! So I've gradually worked at improving my diet - and increasing exercise etc - as well as taking up some hobbies which were things I'd always wanted to do, to be honest I could bore on for hours about all of the things I've changed.
the trick for me was to take one small issue at a time, work at improving it, then move onto something else!
I'm sorry for such a long, off-topic post! If you ever want to chat - please feel free to PM me!
I think for me, the biggest problem in losing weight, is that in some ways it almost creates a really unhealthy relationship with food. You go on a "diet", then find yourself constantly thinking about what you can and can't eat - then you're feeling deprived because all of the things you want, happen to be on the "can't have" list.
Anyway - I could waffle on for Scotland - I'm off to catch up on everything else I've missed over the weekend, back in a mo......
