I don't think it will make any difference to the crime figures, they did little while they were in a job.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another, so please feel free to ignore this.

Yeh, but people knew they were available if needed so they may have been a bit of a deterent.
  • The filth only hassle drivers, the rest of the time you NEVER see them on the streets...so good riddance to bad rubbish

Not in my experience. They're not interested in anything that doesn't involve an easy collar.

  • Sounds like they're having a moan so they can get more money out of the government / taxpayer.

Maybe if they got out of their cars and from behind their speed guns and onto the streets crime would drop as a result.
  • Whenever there's a large lawful demonstration there are always plenty of police to be found, to photograph, bully and harrass peaceful protesters. Where are all the massed ranks of boys in blue when there are p!ssed kids intimidating people on housing estates on Friday nights?

Somehow together with the army we will be the very last job group to get sacked. If we go society crumbles as proven in many case studies round the world. Strangly conservatives tend to look after us better than Zanulabour.

it's always good to remember what could be around the corner before you laugh at others being made unemployed and telling people that your job will be secure for ever...

Sorry but the government don't tend to lay us key workers in a downturn and especially not in a 6-18 month run up to an election.:D

    No coppers on the street?
    Not true!!!!

I saw around 6 cop cars in our village the other day. All were high performace Evo's, Subaru's etc. EACH had 1 copper in.

2 Pulled into the lane where our shops are and each driver got out to speak to a youth.
The other 4 or so cars shot off down the street and round the roundabout.
A few minutes later we headed in the same direction.
As we pulled out to overtake 2 or 3 of these now parked cop cars 1 cop stepped into the road, pointed to us in an aggressive kind of way and waved at us to overtake.
The fact that we were already on the other side of the road overtaking at a reasonable speed didn't seem to matter.

These 2 or 3 cop cars had pulled up a builders type van.
On our way back there were 5 of these high performace cars parked on the pavement outside someones house plus the builders van thye pulled up earlier.

It all seem a terrific waste of money to me.
1: Why were 6 high performace cars necessary?
2: Why did each car have 1 copper in?
3: Why are some coppers arrogant and power happy?!!?

If the police force stopped wasting money on such things and put these coppers on foot then maybe the good coppers may not be facing losing their jobs.

I've never heard so much rubbish from on bunch of posters

you would be the first to cry out if you got robbed mugged had druggies hanging around outside your house

The police have their hands tied by this bloody Govt and the "targets" it has set.

They are there for a reason and without the police this country would become a lawless sh1te hole......to say they only hassle drivers is complete rubbish (only traffic police deal with drivers hence why they are called TRAFFIC police)

And the reason why they have high performance cars is because criminals have high performance cars....or would you like the police to drive around in metro's??

and ANY job has people who are power happy you muppet.........And I love the words one of you used "he pointed at us in a agressive manner".....if your feel like its riuned your life because you was pointed at in a aggressive manner while he was dealing with possible gun crime/violent criminal, then write to your MP...otherwise shut up and let the police do their job.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right
