Just to add my two pence worth - I am now running Rapport downloaded from A&L site for the past week and see no degradation in computer performance as yet. Is it of benefit? Hard to tell primarily because I have never had a problem with virus/malware/spyware/phishing. I use a combination of only freewares to secure my laptop - Comodo, Avira, AdAware and caution.0

Just for the record I was offered this by HSBC and installed it two days ago. My windows started regular emergency shutdowns yesterday suggesting I went into safe mode. I uninstalled the software and all seems fine again now.
As a previous poster mentioned as you uninstall it says that they haven't resolved all clashes with other protective software yet. They offer the opportunity to let their 'software engineers' take over your computer and resolve any clashes!!! No thanks! Surely that's exactly what putting this software in was designed to prevent. Uninstalling this software seems to have done the trick fine in any case. For the record I am using Norton Internet Security 2009, Ad-Aware, CCleaner and BotHunter. One of these doesn't like the Rapport software!0 -
Natwest keep nagging me to download this when I log in to internet banking. I tend to ignore them being perfectly happy with the security software I choose to put on my computer0

That's an interesting statement! I've downloaded rapport from HSBC onto my mac but not installed it yet: I'm still a bit suspicious. The 12-months free only add to my suspicion; does this imply they will suck everyone in, make it a condition of running the account, and then being charging for it?0 -
Recently tried to download Rapport from HSBC but couldn't get it to work. After consulting both the Trusteer and Sandboxie web sites I found that Rapport software will not install or run under Sandboxie. Having had my computer virtually crippled by malware a couple of years ago I never use the internet without the protection of Sandboxie so Rapport is of no use to me.0

I installed Rapport around four months ago via NatWest.
I recently started having a play with the console, checking activity reports etc. and found that two 'security policies' had been edited, and not by me. I therefore restored settings to default but a couple of days later they had been edited again - the settings disabled were the keylogging protection and password protection.
I contacted Trusteer about the problem who asked me to send them a data log from the console which I did. They replied a couple of days later and stated that another program or process was conflicting with Rapport, but they didn't know what it was. Their advice was to not worry, leave the settings as they were and continue using Rapport albeit with reduced protection.
I am not running any security software that is out of the ordinary (McAfee Internet Security and AdAware) so cannot imagine what could be interfering with Rapport?
It does seem that Rapport is not as stable as they'd have you believe, vunerable even.
Anyone else have any experience of usual activity?
Regards

just read this full of woes and grief....
Installed last night from HSBC.
1) Safari not supported! - microsft conspiracy?
2) IE Bowser now just hangs so I can't even get to my banking with this. Jeez this stuff really is secure!!
3) On line support want to do a remote investigation but as they're in the US (I guess) they can only do UK time 10am to 3pm. So I'd need to take a day off work - I wonder if I can charge this to HSBC?
Solution - restored form disc image taken prior to install
Now I need to contact bank/watchdog to see what their view is. Mine is as I use Zone Alarm Extreme I don't need this.0 -
I have never had any problems with Rapport, that I know off.
Although I am using a new computer with IE & avg security. I also use spubot, just in case AVG misses something.
I have fond with other virus checkers that my system slows down and I cant do anything.0 -
I found when I first installed it, I couldn't use it with chrome, my browser of choice. I notice by chance one day that it was no working. I use it with Microsoft Security Essentials and had no other problems at all.0
