Don't think there's anything personal on there to worry about, but you can edit your own post if you wish. Yes you have now posted the HJT log. Someone with more expertise than me will be along shortly to advise if there is anything shown there that is suspicious.
Suggest you update and scan with Avast in the meantime.
I do see that you have some version of McAfee installed, not a good idea to run this as well as Avast, unlike anti-spyware you should only have one anti-virus program installed at once.
Didn't look to be anything too serious revealed by Superantispyware, may be that your problem is purely RAM-related.

Not as revealing as what you do with a 'naughty stick'

When all is said and done and you've run all the anti-super-duper-virus-malware on the market, to sort out your original problem you still need more sheep, I mean RAM.

p.s. don't forget to push the 'Thanks' button on macman's posts

thanks bluboy, it does seeem to have taken rather longer than envisaged at first...hopefully someone can have a look at the HJT log this evening.
But I'm coming to the same conclusion as you-it's just a shortage of mutton.

We're not quite there yet-we need someone to look at your HJT log. Any takers?
If McAfee has expired then yes, uninstall it, it's just filling up disk space and cluttering up your system. Do the same for any other programs you don't use, it all helps. But don't uninstall anything you're not sure about.
Once HJT is sorted and Avast is run we will be interested to see if your system is performing any better. If it isn't then it's baa-baa time I'm afraid...
