I'll have to surreptitiously try some of these! It takes such an effort to get OH to even buy 'standard' supermarket own brand rather than the branded stuff!

One thing he does like (and if it's good enough for him it must be good!) is the frozen garlic bread. A little fattier than the 'good for you' ones I often get but fine in moderation!

SP 4 pack of kitchen roll for 83p. OK, its' not exactly Thirst Pockets or whatever it's called but there's no other supermarket comes close to 83p for a 4 pack...is there?

We buy these to use when cleaning out the guinea pigs, but use Bounty (Now called 'Plenty') for the kitchen. We find the sp stuff to be a false economy when it comes to the kitchen tbh.

When I go shopping, most of the packaging in my trolley is green and white.
    • Fruit and Veg - I buy SP Potatoes, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Lettuce, you name it I buy it and I've never had a problem with any of it.
    • Bacon - Great Value, and I know it's not processed.
    • Chicken Breasts - I buy the SP Frozen Chicken Breasts £5 for 1.4kg, and they taste great.
    • Cheese - Only Buy the mature white, as I don't like mild
    • Yoghurts - The big pots, and the fromage frais suit us down to the ground.
    • Vinegar - Does what it says on the bottle
    • Tomato Ketchup - Tastes Fine
    • Mayonnaise - Great
    • Salad Cream - Great
    • Tea Bags - I don't drink tea anyway, so it doesn't matter to me. :o
    • Biscuits - They taste better than the brand names
    • Instant Noodles - Quick snack for DS at under 10p a pack.
    • Lasagne Sheets - Taste no different to the more expensive ranges.
    • Pasta - Does us just fine.
    • Instant Mashed Potato - GREAT but you got to add some butter.
    • Frozen Mixed Veg - Fantastic
    • Black Bags - Not very strong but you learn how much they can take.
    • Washing Powder - Absolutely great. However I do use the more expensive range of Fabric Conditioners.
    • Discloths - :)
    • Foil - Does the job.
    • Cling Film - Again does the job.

    • Toilet Rolls - Not Bad
    • Bread - Ok, but goes stale quickly.
    • Cereals - Ok - But not great.

    • Beef Mince - Not so great, too fatty and grisly for me, but I still buy them when I'm skint.

If there's anything I left out I'll add it in at a later date.

    :)

Yesterday I tried the ASDA SP Ready Salted Crisps, Multipack (12 in bag) for 46p, and I must say I really enjoyed them, much better than Walkers.
I tried these. They were fine and a bargain, but I added some ground black pepper and it improved them heaps. (I am addicted to black pepper.)
    Looking forward to the future.

We bought some smartprice drawers. They were terrible quality. Screw holes in wrong places etc.and the drawers were used in a kids room, within a few days 3 drawer fronts were off and beyond repair.(although this was 2years ago so could have changed quality)
If google doesn't know it, how should i?
  • I agree about the baked beans being like bullets! The beans with sausage though, are really really nice, must be a different manufacturer?
