I've bought the smartprice mince before - I just drain all the fat from it after it's been lightly fried and it's not that bad when in sauce :)
I love the tinned kidney beans, so much cheaper than the alternative and basically tastes the same
I LOVE the extra mature cheddar too, just the right strength and flavour!
and the white wine, which never used to be SP, but recently got rebranded. It's my favourite white! :)
Best wins since June 08: 2xNikonD60, 2xBrothers Cider, £330 SwanJackpot, £100 Garden Vs, £50 Espirit V, £750 BigSnap2, Wiifit, zoo tix, 7xCadburys, 5xGlamour, IOWTix, Dell Laptop, 3xIpodNano, £100 Highstreet Vs, Digi VideoCamera and more small bits, REAL DEAL £2400! :jRIP Dad 1943-2009

Is it just me or are Asda putting up the price on their smart price items. Just one example I get their smart price lemon squash and it was 15p for 1ltr today it was 27p for 750ml. so they have changed the packaging to make it look different and charging more for less. I am now going to both Morrisons and Icelands and getting bits there as Asda are getting worse.
Thanks for any help and advice given

I found these baby wipes made babys bottom really sore and gave her a bad rash, would not recommend at all.

Well since reading this i have gone out and brought a few sp thing si wouldnt normally and the good ones i have found are flour, like someone said before flour is flour.

I like their sweetcorn in a tin, much to my surprise.

I agree with the comment about baked beans and spaghetti are too thick, the spaghetti was like none ive seen before!

I didnt bother with toilet rolls as many of you have listed those as rubbish.

The lasagne sheets are exactly the same, in fact i found if anythnig they were slightly better :rotfl:

Biscuits are all pretty relative but the choccie ones def the best!

Washing up liquid was horrible, would not recommend at all

All fruit and veg was good the only difference is it didnt last as long although i found it froze well so didnt matter too much for us.

Thats as far as i have got with trying more sp stuff but will continue and update.

P.s: thanks op for the thread it made a great read + made a difference to my shoppnig bill :T

Yup the bacon pieces too, they are now in a smaller packet and have been renamed 'cooking bacon' and i think are about 30-40p more expensive, Still worth it so i still got some though. I think this is how they do the roll back! Roll the prices up and then back down so we think we're getting bargains!!
If google doesn't know it, how should i?
  • I've never bought smart price stuff but this weekend when i do the weekly shop i'm on a mission to buy anything i can SP lol see how much i can get my bill down and see what i can change when i'm buying all these reviews are great think i'll avoid the loo roll after reading these though lol

Really can't complain - however, the cheese becomes likable if you grate it over the nachos and pop under the grill for a few minutes :D
