I must admit that when i do a 'big' shop that 75% of my trolley is sp!!
The potatoes are great value for money, make lovely mash/roasters/chips. But always need a damn good scrub first!!
SP eggs - Eggsellent value @ 1 pound for 12 eggs. Yolk seems a bit paler than dearer eggs. But taste nice.
SP bread -Makes nice toast but c*ap for butties!
SP vegetable spread - Great value for money. Large tub lasts ages!
SP Coffee - Yuck!~
SP Tea - Like someone else mentioned takes a bit longer to brew but yummy!
SP orange cordial - Too watery.
SP Frozen cheese and tomato pizza - Bit stingy with the cheese but i use as a base to add own toppings, the kids love to help and yummy!!
SP mushrooms - Look weird but taste great.
SP loo roll - Very thin sheets, Not very absorbent,Ok for emergency loo rolls and very very cheap!!
SP washing up liquid - Too watery, takes a lot to lather. Stick to asdas own which is currently 2 for a pound!!
SP noodles - as good as bachelors.
SP tinned peas, Not as green or as tasty as other brands.Very bland.
SP tinned carrots,No difference to other brands
SP tinned toms - again just tinned toms no different to others
SP sausages -Good for toad in holes, casseroles etc not nice on own.
SP bacon -Thin slices but very nice, especially smokey!!
SP gammon rounds - Gorgeous, not as salty as others
SP frozen chicken fillets - Lovely cooked as is,and great for other recipes.Very cheap a large bag for a fiver!! No complaints here although they do have more added water than dearer brands.
SP fish fingers-No complaints, taste nice and don't fall apart when cooked under grill
SP battered chicken dippers -No different to other brands.Lovely with bbq sauce!!
SP mayo/tom ketchup - Again very nice, ketchup quite tangy.
SP beefburgers - Oniony taste! We don't like them but get them for bbqs as very cheap and don't taste too bad when chargrilled!
SP chicken burgers - Delicious! Lovely on a SP bun with SP mayo
SP barmcakes - Small but great size for toddlers/kids and mini burgers!!Nice taste.
SP bananas - Never seem to be ripened enough lol - always green!!!
SP leeks - Just leeks!
SP tinned macaroni cheese - No complaints from my lot but i personally don't like
any macaroni.
SP tinned meatballs in gravy/tomato sauce - Personally can't tell a difference from campbells!!
SP stewed steak - 1.40ish a tin,not any different from other brands.
SP corned beef - Not nice, Funny taste.
SP washing powder - Cleans well but makes me itch.
SP bubble bath - I'm allergic to something in this, but it smells okay, and certainly has plenty bubbles! Wouldn't use it for kids though.
SP Ravioli - Nice sauce but the ravioli is not nice tasting.
SP spaghetti hoops - No complaints here as good as leading brands.
SP coke - Tastes like chicken!! LOL wouldnt buy again. Asdas own (one with red label) is far superior and a fave here
SP lemonade, Weaker tasting than say, schweppes but would buy again.
SP ready salted crisps - Very nice, almost as good as walkers, but bags are a bit small
SP biscuits, all seem to be nice but don't like SP digestives.
SP soft cheese (philadephia style) 7/10 Nice taste, awkward to spread though!!
SP cheese spread - Very rubbery, would not buy again.
SP cheese slices - Would give these 3/10, we buy the slightly more expensive asda's own which seem to taste nicer.
SPdried pasta/spagetti - Great value for money.I always buy.
SP flour - A bargain,No different from more expensive brands.
SP long grain rice - again, Just rice!! Would buy again
Not food, but SP Indoor sweeping brush - Had mine a week and O.H just snapped the plastic handle while sweeping!!!
SP ironing boards - Do you know the packaging says SP but the board itself has a MINKY badge (or did do 18 months ago when i bought mine!)
SP/durabrand coffee maker - Plasticky taste would not go away for ages!! Made coffee taste funny, but seemingly resolved since i ran white vinegar through it several times.
I'll probably post more later,kiddies call!!!If google doesn't know it, how should i?0 -

Yes,the tortilla chips are lovelyWith smartprice dips!! I don't like the baby wipes find them a bit thin, and have to agree aswell that the fromage frais are great! My kids actually seem to prefer them to the more expensive brands! x

SP cornflakes taste like any other cheap cornflakes do, SP's version of coco pops are also lovely and far cheaper than kelloggs (we go through LOTS of cereals here!) The only bad thing about SP cereal is that they are not boxed, just bagged and i haven't enough cereal storage containers if more than one packet is open!If google doesn't know it, how should i?0

mushy peas - ok but bit more watery than some
baked beans - ok, just as good
frozen mince - AM not buying this anymore - just not good and smells little funny.
Kitchen roll - ok but at the rate my OH goes through this, would cost a fortune for anything other than the SP brand.
Toilet roll - ok, nothing special

asda's own brand of beans are horrible. eugh. and so are the spaghetti hoops. they are both scarily thick. never again.
we stick to buyin actual brands, HP and heniz. they are really pricey in asda so we go to local shops and buy them for about 4 for £1.
the fish fingers and wedges are lovely
the ice lollies are a bit to watery(just like tescos), the icelollies in morrisons are better.
the canned sweetcorn is horrible. there's still a can in the cupboard from last year. The ones from Lidl are probably one of the nicest i've had are relatively cheap about 30 or 40 pence.0 -

I only use the baby wipes for wiping DD's mucky face, don't think I'd use them if I had another baby, they are too thin.2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017

Mmm...me too i got some and filled with SP frying steak (which is nice but quite chewy) and SP mushrooms and onions lol. I think SP baguettes must be new because i've not noticed them before??
I can make about 6 steak and mushroom baguettes for less than a fiver, Our local sandwich shop (which is literally just round corner from our house) sells steak baguettes (same size as SP ones) for 2.20 each, and i'm a right sucker for them, Can smell them when i'm in my front garden and it always makes me want one HEHE!! :rotfl:If google doesn't know it, how should i?0 -

The frozen mince is horrid but the fresh mince is great, i use it for bologneses and pies etc and never had any complaints. I used the frozen mince once and had complaints about a 'lardy' taste :eek:If google doesn't know it, how should i?0
