Natwest were top for us too, we are 10% deposit and got a 5yr fix for 5.99% - everywhere else either had massive arrangement fees or 7.25% interest!!! The natwest arrangement fee for the product we have picked is £0 :j
We have also just changed our bank accounts over to Natwest as we dont like halifax and have wanted to change for some time
Anywho, had our meeting with Natwest and they are processing our mortgage application and will be taking out the fee for the Survey this week so things are rolling :rotfl:DFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022
MFW Total £184,950 £179,066 to clear by 20350 -
Congrats happytails. Fee for me will be a mere £299!! MA setting up meeting for tomorrow (he used to be the manager at this branch so hopefully can sort out someone decent in there)0

Hey All!
Thought i would update you on my house buying process!
Viewed a repo, but after two offers gave up on it. It eventually sold for 86k and need a fair amount of work doing to it.
On 12th June, viewed a 2 bed end terrace in a cul-de-sac village location. Had been refurbed and reduced as vendor had moved away and his tenants moved out a yr ago.
It was on mrkt for 85k, rather than 113k 12mnths before according to Property bee. I offered 83k, rejected. Then 84k which was accepted as im a FTB i could complete quickly.
No mortgage as parents helping, so i'll be repaying them, it's a long story! Instructed solicitor. All paperwork sign last wk.
Money transferred to solicitor today, exchanging tomorrow, completing on Friday.
So, start - finish 5 weeks! I'm SO excited and also looking at getting a kitten lol. :T0 -

Thanks although I am now getting incredibly nervous after reading the 2 threads in which the OP's can't complete after exchange.
I know we don't have much to worry about but I won't relax until we get the keys!

Well a little update!
I am quite annoyed......supposed to exchange next week, have just found out the contracts have been sent out today but there was a problem with the mining searches and so may not exchange next week as our lender may decide that they will not lend due to these issues!!!
I am angry at the fact that the solicitor said the searches came back over a week ago and yet they have waited until a week before exchange to bring up these problems!
Sorry for the rant but based on everything we have paid out and items we have bought it is really annoying to get to a week before exchange!
