Offer accepted - 2nd week of June
3rd week of July - no closer to exchange!
    !

Yes, similar for me. Offer accepted first week of June, still got no date for exchange...

Are you in a chain? I keep counting the weeks but I am learning that when they tell you 6 - 8 weeks its meaningless. :rotfl:I wish they hadnt bothered to tell me that as I might not be so impatient as I am now at week 7!

Just a quick update from me. We are now week 18 from the offer (no, that's not a typo). For the last 4 months (for anyone who remembers me) we've been trying to sort out the leasehold/freehold paperwork and finally our solicitor says he has it! Woohoo!! Looks like we might get the house sometime this year afterall!!

Only that the vendor is buying, but the house they're buying is a probate sale so it should be straightforward.
My solicitor's been waiting 2 weeks for a response on F&F.
Chased the agent today - asked if they have a problem with their mortgage for the house they're buying? He said no.

But I'm getting a bit fed up.

Meant to be completing today/tomorrow at latest. Just received this. Relatively nail-biting.
    Hi Sam

I have received the mortgage advance from Nat West this morning.

I have spoken to the vendors' solicitors to let them know that we are ready to complete. However, they are still waiting to receive the signed Transfer Deed from one of their clients who lives in Scotland. It was posted to him on 16 July but they have not received it back yet. They are contacting the client about this and will get back to us as soon as they have any information. I confirm that I will let you know as soon as I hear from them.

    Regards

    Helen

Thats slightly worrying as the thing thats holding mine up is the paperwork for the management company that look after the communal spaces around the house.

Gosh, seems like its not going right for anyone at the moment, must be something in the water lol!

I have emailled our solicitor and just asked her to email me as soon as she hears anything from Nationwide, if i don't hear anything by next wednesday then I will have to get in touch with her

The only thing that is worrying is that we are buying a repo and so have no idea how long the asset managment company will wait, I suppose a week is not so bad but god help us if we have to get a mortgage from somewhere else!

    xx

P.S Well just checked emails and our solicitor has actually emailled us to 'keep us informed' very shocking as she never does this!!! She has called Nationwide they have the coal report and will look at it this afternoon and pass it on to the surveyor to see if the valuation still stands so fingers crossed it may either be sorted tomorrow or monday! Wish me luck!
