    YES! WE ARE IN!

Spoke to BT last week so internet and phone working already so sat on our stairs and absolutely buzzing. It feels amazing! Luckily we have a week overlap with our rented flat so plenty of time to move in. Just had electrician round for a quote for more sockets and new fuse board etc.

Back to flat to bring some stuff to our home!

Anyway, just a word of encouragement guys, keep on at your solicitors if they aren't being helpful and communicative! It's well worth it!

In total it took 2 days shy of 2 months from having offer accepted to us moving in now and that's with no chain either side.

I will stick up some pics later, absolutely over the moon. Thanks for all the help/support guys :)

So decided to chase the solicitor again, and have been told they still waiting on a pack of information from the management company.

So certainly not moving in before the 17/18th August now, shame but at least it means we know for sure that there is no point doing any more packing.

    Hey folks!

I completed on my house a week ago now and it's just about become my home after various issues. Not officially moving in until Tuesday because:

    - My parents and I have repainted and cleaned the whole house.
    - I've had no gas/electric until today because property was a rental before i bought it and had been cut off due to arrears.
    - Alarm fitted tomorrow.
    - New carpet fitted on Monday.

Had a massive row with Virgin Media as internet isn't working. Luckily phone line is so will have that only until probably another week. Until then i'm making the best of my parents internet! :oD

From start to finish my purchase took 5wks, however, it was previously empty.

    Hi all,

Good to see some completions going on!

I'm an FTB, on day 32 since our offer was accepted.

Currently waiting for the formal mortgage offer (lender has been sitting on paperwork for the last seven days due to excessive demand) and quotes from builders for work arising from the survey.

Will then need to negotiate on price with the vendor as the house has a significant damp problem... not sure how it will go though, as our offer was accepted on the second day of the property being available.

Basically in the next few days things may fall apart or all come together!!

    Hi All,

    Thought I'd join the thread.

Had an offer accpeted on a house two weeks ago today, (5k below asking price) and have just had my (second attempt) mortgage approved today! Yipppeee!!!! Glad that bit is out of the way!!

How long would/should it take now? 4/5 weeks?

    Huzzah,

I completed and moved in today... it has been the most stressful week of my life (with one thing and another) but such a relief to have it finally done and dusted.

Shame I had to drive from London to Liverpool after moving all my stuff, but I've made it now!

Hi Framps, I'm in exactly the same situation.. offer accepted (subject to survey) on a house 30 days ago after it being on market less than a week. The survey came back with loads of things that need addressing, so now need to get builders quotes and start re-negotiating I guess...

I'd be grateful for any advice or tips from anyone at this stage :)
