Might be a stupid question but where can i get the voucher? Can't find it on the Sainsburys site

Hi Dooleys, here is the link. Its from the Bounty site. You need to buy a pack of Huggies Newborn and have a Nectar card to get the basket.

Tara - the little so and so...try not to get too stressed hun.

I have made a huge risotto at hubbys request. Easy enough but you have to stand over the stove whilst it cooks so my back is in bits again. AND it used to be the recipe I brought out when I needed an excuse to open a bottle of wine (like I ever needed an excuse lol!)

Have texted AF but no reply...may be good news??

Any OS'ers around - can I freeze risotto?

Thinking of both of you :).

Have just been looking again at that TT site as I remembered the microwave steriliser I got in the Asda baby event for £10 was actually cheaper on the website. I'm sure it was £8, but it's now only £6 if anyone was after one :)

I've been looking at the eletric steriliser (already have the microwave one :) got the last one from my Asda lol) but is there a huge advantage between them? Bear in mind I have a TINY kitchen so gadgets have to really be justified as I loose a lot of surface space if I have any :(
Especially wondering if I'll be fine with a microwave one as the plan is to breastfeed and only bottlefeed further down the road (actually it'll be DH who will be bottle feeding - he wants to help out but we both agree that for the first 2-4weeks we're going to aim for just breast if we can...) and then it'll only be 1 maybe 2 bottles a day - the rest will still be BF...

Change of topic... have cat curled up next to me - and she has hiccups :rotfl: it's hillarious! She looks so peeved and seems to think it's MY fault she's hiccuping :D

Roo has been very active again tonight, obviously starting to run out of room in there and she's not pleased about it! Hohum :)

Sami - thanks for offering to come with me. I have told OH in no uncertain terms that he's coming with me. He works in Halewood so I told him I'll be there at 5.30pm and will sit outside beeping the horn until he gets his a$$ in the car. Got to be at the Women's for 6pm - they will do scan and bloods for £150. Just wonder how long it will take to get the results back?
Thought when you said you were at MIL's and you said you were popping on here that you were popping in to see me!!
I think the result can be as quick as a few days or as slow as 2 weeks, as its private I would have thought it would be pretty quick.
I would have popped round to you if I knew u were there and you wouldn't get in trouble :D
Are you a costco member? I got my body pillow from there about 2wks ago I think they have them all the time, about £12 but I had a voucher to get it for £10, its in a lush pillowcase too soooo snuggly!! I'm in love with it!

My microwave is on it's last legs, but only used for popcorn so not going to go get a new one and don't really trust it to heat properly. Used the steam for the last 2 so it's just tradition.

When you apply for you Health in Pregnancy Grant any idea how long it takes to arrrive and does it get paid straight into a bank account or do you get it by cheque? I just want to be able to plan my budget ahead (I'm trying to be organised for a change)
Next one, are sight tests free when you're pregnant? I get them free with work anyway but I was just curious.
The HiPG doesn't officially come in to affect until the start of the new tax yr in april so that will be the earliest you get it, it will go straight into ur bank
Eye tests are NOT free in pregnancy :(
    emlou2009 wrote: »
i work for specsavers and sight tests arent free if you're pregnant, they advise you to wait til after pregnancy for your eye test if you can cos it makes your eyesight deteriorate and then after the baby you'll probably be claiming tax credits anyway which will entitle you to a nhs eye test!
Claiming tax credits does not entitle you to free eye tests.
"You are entitled to a free sight test, paid for by the NHS, if:
    • you are under 16 years of age,
    • you are 16, 17, or 18, and in full-time education,
    • you are 60 or over,
    • you have been diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma,
    • you are 40 or over, and your mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter has been diagnosed with glaucoma,
    • an ophthalmologist (eye doctor) has advised you that you’re at risk of glaucoma,
    • you are registered as blind or partially sighted,
    • you are prescribed complex lenses – these are lenses with a power of 10 dioptres or more, or prism controlled bifocal lenses,
    • your sight tests are usually done through a hospital eye department, as part of your care for an existing eye condition, or
    • you are a war pensioner and you need the sight test because of a disability for which you get a war pension.
You are entitled to full help with health costs, including sight tests, if you or your partner receive:
    • Income Support,
    • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance,
    • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, or
    • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit.
You can also get a free NHS sight test if you’re entitled to, or named on, a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate.
If you’re eligible for help with NHS costs under the NHS Low Income Scheme, you can claim some or all of the cost of sight tests for you, your partner and your children." taken from NHS website HERE

AM - how long can bubba go in the front seat? Is it for as long as they are in a rear facing seat?
They can always be in front I think (No air bag when they are in rear facing tho!!) the seat should always be pushed right back tho

I've found this very handy site that tells you if ur local council provide advice etc

  • Just heard from AF - a few niggles but nothing much doing.

My MW said if nothing happened within 24 hours after the sweep then it hadn't worked (ie you would have prob gone into labour then anyway) AF's MW said 48 hour - any advances??
