    hi ladies,

thought i had better show my face (so to speak)

thanks MFD for letting the ladies know what was going on. as MFD said, i have had a few niggles, but nothing major really. i guess like most (especially with our firsts) we wonder about every niggle. the MW that did my sweep up at the hospital was brilliant. i soooooo hope she is on duty when i actually do have to go to hospital (although my luck would dictate that she wont be).

Can you 'go' to the MW for a sweep instead of having them come to your house? I would just prefer to go to my doctor's surgery to have it down rather than at my house.

i am going to try and read back and catch up a bit.

    xxx

hope everyone has had a nice day.
been working today, keep staring at all the people in with prams and pushchairs and the amount that are all in car seats is amazing. lets face it, if you go to trafford centre you;re going to be there longer than 90 mins!!
and a lot of people going to the traff will have traveled at least 30 mins to get there!
What really annoys me (its a general pet peeve relating to all things not just prams etc) is that people never read the instructions  i read them throughly even if I think it's obvious how stuff works coz it clearly says in them that u shouldn't have bubs in car seat for longer than x mins with out a 30 min break.
I saw a review of the ventura car seat on mothercare where a woman said it was really good using the hood in the car to keep the sun off - In the instructions it states very clearly that under no circumstances should you use the hood while the seat is in the car

AF last time all my MW visits were at the GPs I wasn't ever offered or told that an app would be at home. I think it depends on ur local pct :)
I too don't want to have a sweep at home!!

I think i would just feel better if it was done 'away from home'.

Not sure if I will be offered another one for a while anyway. When i rang the hopstial to check my bloods i have been told i need to come in for another BP/urine check (as i am seeing consultant on thursday). i mentioned the sweep and the mw i spoke to this time said they dont normally do them before 40 weeks (oops) unless the doc says otherwise. the doc yesterday didnt have any concerns with me having one though saying that.

I don't understand why they get so funny about not sweeping before 40wks I personally wouldn't want one before then but its not a guarantee and lots of peoples dates are usually a bit of a rough guess so what harm could it do a few days earlier *shrugs shoulders*
I sort of feel that anything 'medical' should be done in a medical place and not my slightly grubby house :o

for me, the reason for suggesting the stretch and sweep was becuase i have been up to the DAU nearly twice a week for the past three weeks and also that i still have protein showing and also ketones again yesterday.

I had a rant about that last night....

Anyone know where you get those handmade fleece cosytoes? The ones that can be used as a blanket, have poppers down the sides that you do up and can lift baby from crib into the pram without undoing the blaket. It has slits for the harness to go through... know what I'm on about?
