    Evening all,

I'm feeling a bit cr*ap this evening, tried to give blood today for the first time ever, took ages to work myself up to go to the appointment, then they were running really late, which was fine but I was getting pretty nervous.

I'm guessing my veins were pretty nervous too, because they went into hiding! took 10 minutes for them to find one, then when they eventually did it refused to give out any blood. Eventually they gave up on me and told meto try again next time.

i know it's not my fault, but I really wanted to do this and I feel a bit of a failure now

Awww don't feel like a failure, I give blood and my veins hide too, i have to have the most experienced person to put the needle in me, the others cant find my veins, sometimes I bleed very quickly and sometimes it takes an age, I have just given my 10th pint, so do keep going, it is well worth it knowing that you are helping others xxx
  • Diva and RedRuby Thanks for the reports on stretching with oats. I've been curious about trying it but after both of your reviews, I think I'll pass in favour of lentils.

Yesterday I made 5 batches of chocolate and walnut brownies and 5 batches of cherry coconut cake (most of which is now in the freezer).

Today i have dried some clothes and made 4 loaves of bread, using the asda bread flour with the early BB dates. I make the bread by hand and just used my mixer dough hooks on the dough for 5 mins for each loaf, and it turned out really yummy.
I'm sitting here in awe of you. I love to cook and bake but am not sure I could do all that in one day! Perhaps if I had a large oven, which I do not. If you don't have room in the freezer for any of it, I'll be happy to take it off your hands. :D Positive thoughts and prayers that your MRI goes smoothly and calmly for you tomorrow. I had an MRI of my brain and the only semi-aggravating thing to me was how loud it was and clunked. I actually fell asleep while they were doing it.:o

Bargainbird - Positive thoughts and prayers for your DH and you. I love Primark too. Have fun shopping! :D

I've been known to call them senior moments. I believe they began after I turned 30 so you can imagine how many I have at 46.

:ARedruby:A Just want to say thanks that you donate blood. It can truly mean the difference between life and death.

    Good evening all,

Tea was good tonight and we had HM apple cranberry crisp with ice cream for our afters. I made a smaller pan of it this time as I can't seem to stay out of the sweets when I bake.

Washing up is done and kitchen ready for morning. I made a small pan of brownies for DH to take with his lunches the rest of the week. I think I'd best cut them, package them and freeze them. They're another sweet I can't keep away from. :o

I'm tired but feel like I've accomplished a lot today so I'm also feeling content. I just finished up reading the thread with a coffee for my relaxation before bed. Thanks for sharing your days with me. I love the sense of community there is here. :grouphug:

With many warm hugs and good wishes to all,

I'm off to Stafford tomorrow for a fast track MRI so feel a bit nervous about that but my parents have had them and they tell me it's okay, i'm having my brain scanned, hope they find i have one ;-)

I'm mostly concerned about getting a panic attack due to claustrophobia, i'm asthmatic and confined spaces freak me out and then i hyperventilate, so prayers and positive thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Hope all is well with you all, i'm going to read through the thread now...i am a bit backward tho' LOL![/quote]

Katholicos - I'm with you on that one. I suffer from claustrophobia. Will be thinkinhg of you.....

    Hi guys,

I have spent bloomin hours on this aol problem today and have posted on the techie board to see if they can help me, mind you I have told them I installed it with no problems. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I never admit to being technically challenged, suffice to say I have got it all done bar one problem. Today has been lost altogether but I WILL sort this out.

The house is clean, kids fed and asleep and me hanging on to see if anyone want's to talk to me over there. I am sure some good person will be able to help.

Katholics, I will be thinking of you tomorrow, good luck.

Bargainbird, Hugs to you and OH.

Donnygal, DS1 starts counselling on the 26th of this month. I have told him that someone is coming to school to talk to him about how he is and about his dad and he doesn't seem too bothered about it.
I have not had another wet patch since the last one I reported here but he seems to have settled down really well since xmas and he is a lot happier. The mental health team have decided to hold off until he has seen the counsellor (sp) and she will be in a better position to see if he needs further help. She is a lovely lady and feels that all of his problems are grief related.
He improved so much over xmas that I decided to take this half term off with them and not send them to the nursery while I work, maybe having mum aroud full time is helping too.

Anyway I am going to have to give up and go to bed soon, the thought of having to spend more hours tomorrow trying to sort out this log on problem is not appealing.

    See you all tomorrow,

    Smoky. xxxx

Think relaxing thoughts & listen to the music......the staff will be able to help if you do feel a little worried.

Thanks so much for reassuring me that it will be okay, Floss. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and well wishes, you are all such a friendly bunch of people!
