    Happy Birthday :bdaycake: :bdaycake:

    Bunny

The skirt is beautifull and I love the fabric.

Made a massive quiche in a much larger tray than usual using the bacon offcuts I got from Sainsburys and DH hung two washloads out on the line.

DD liked the warm fluffy dressing gown of mine I had just washed so much I had to wash hers specially and put it on a radiator!

Have tried a recipe for fudge and poured it in a tin but it does not look as if it is setting.

Might put it in the fridge overnight and see if that helps - if all else fails I will swear blind it is meant to be a posh icing for cakes or a topping for ice cream.;)

    Hugs to everybody

.......I'm off to Stafford tomorrow for a fast track MRI so feel a bit nervous about that but my parents have had them and they tell me it's okay, i'm having my brain scanned, hope they find i have one ;-) .......

Way back in 1994, on being told by my consultant that my scan results showed that my brain was in perfect condition, my ex-OH piped up "that's because she doesn't use it"....

    Evening all,

I'm feeling a bit cr*ap this evening, tried to give blood today for the first time ever, took ages to work myself up to go to the appointment, then they were running really late, which was fine but I was getting pretty nervous.

I'm guessing my veins were pretty nervous too, because they went into hiding! took 10 minutes for them to find one, then when they eventually did it refused to give out any blood. Eventually they gave up on me and told meto try again next time.

i know it's not my fault, but I really wanted to do this and I feel a bit of a failure now

And then because I was running so late I didn't have time to go into town and pick up the fabric to make the costume

Sorry for being a moaning Minnie - on the plus side rehearsals went pretty well :T

Bargainbird - good luck with DH:o and I get round sorting out my wardrobe by wearing my summer stuff all year round, tops under jumpers and skirts with jeans or tights. But it's ok because I don't have to look like a grown up for a few months yet:p

Katholicos - You are a baking inspiration! Best of luck at the hospital:A

Bunny -I really want to learn how to make clothes! My gran has said I can have one of her sewing machines to learn on as soon as I have the time and space for it - can't wait!!

Beemuzed - Congrats! Must be an amazing feeling! hopefully I'll see you there in few months

Anyway, have an essay I should be reading, back to the grindstone...

:D:D Similar happened to me in 1988. I actually had meningitis at the age of 21 (very very lucky it was caught early) and after a brain scan my Mum rang my office & told them 'She's had the scan ........ and thank God they didn't find anything' ;) They all knew what she meant of course but I took stick for weeks - lots of 'we always knew you were brainless, Lou' etc etc :rotfl:
  • Nessie HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!

Beemuzed Congratulations - what a marvellous feeling! :T

Elona - you reminded me that we have a jar of failed fudge in the fridge - OH is going to smear some of it on the top of the failed chocolate & cherry muffins from the weekend now! :D

Katholicos - remember to concentrate on your breathing and picture in your mind a peaceful place - somewhere that you are particularly happy & relaxed....maybe somewhere you love to go on holiday? Claustrophobia is horrible as are the panic attacks that go with it - but I'm certain you'll be fine.

We've had LO pork from the big scarily expensive joint for tea - I heated it up innthe LO gravy and it was delicious! HM oven chips would have been more delicious if they'd not overcooked slightly. There's still heaps of the pork left mind you - it might have to do a stir fry on Thursday night and I'll freeze the balance, not sure yet. Got to go onto the online banking tonight to shuffle some money about from main accounts into savings and also make sure there is enough to cover the balance payment for the holiday cottage. Six weeks to go now and I can't wait! :j Got to get the ferry tickets booked in the next couple of weeks to so we know they are done.

I am back on track with flylady this week so the flat is staying under control thankfully - I'm gradually getting the mess in our room sorted out but that's a "little and often" task I think!
