A bit of an update here
Found out that i cant get a pin because i dont go to a Bradford school. Going to try and get my cousin to get one for me.
Letter from Sainsburys Brighouse - i am on the waiting list for 3 months (like every other person who lives nearby)
Letter from Tesco- telling me to fill in a proper application form which they have sent me (the letter said it in a nice way as if they had jobs/short waiting list)0 -
Once upon a time someone posted a link to a page which outlined what jobs you could do at what ages. And whenever my sons have got paper rounds or other jobs we've been sent a form by the council and a list of what under 18s can and can't do. All I can remember is that you can't work in a cinema under the age of 16, and various restrictions on agricultural machinery. Have done a quick search of my local council's website but can't find what I'm looking for there. Connexions should be able to advise you (even without a PIN no!) or SOMEONE at the local council, just not sure which dept it is which checks these things out.
So sorry you've not found anything yet: you are obviously putting the effort in!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
A local M&S vacancy finally cam up on their website, i went on to it and it said that because i was not out of compulsory school they would not take me on.0

Maybe time to talk to your Dad: sit him down with a beer (or whatever!) and say "Look Dad, I've tried really really hard and there's nothing doing at the moment, you say I wouldn't enjoy working at your call centre but a) I can't find anything I WOULD enjoy and b) it will give me the chance to show you that I can stick at something I don't enjoy and make a go of it." Or work on your mum if that would be more productive.
Good luck!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
As it is insurance they want call centre experience and only have full time vacancies at the moment.
I have found a company in Halifax that do telephone market research from a teacher at school who says that loads of students do it, i emailed them as i couldnt get through on the phone.
I have also applied to halifax bank as on their website it lets you apply even if you are still 16 and of compulsory school age.0 -
yeah try fast food restaurants or grocery stores... or if you're <15, try newspaper delivery routes0
