I have worked since 12, first paper rounds then at 14 I got a shop job, I think u would be better off trying local shops, not chain stores as they seem to have funny rules.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0

Update
Finally got a job, today i got a call from the washing up job i went down to see about 2 weeks ago saying they had a vacancy, going tomoz to learn the basics.
Everyone else should keep trying until they get one, thats what i did and although it isnt the most desirable job at least i am getting money and have something to write on application forms of the future.
Everyone should keep posting to make this the number one thread of the board!0 -

Another update
I worked a full day but the manager wasnt there and they didnt know i was going but they let me work and payed me, i was told they would phone me before the next weekend to tell me what is happening, they never phoned me so i decided not to go in, they obviously didnt miss me because they still have not phoned.
But, not all is bad, i have got an interview at comet and really need advice on what to say as it is my first proper interview, i am getting a lift there so i am presentable, going to go in shirt and trousers, reasons for me being good so far are - work experience on whitegoods, know a fair bit about computing and AV, know about upcoming av developments (HD, new dvd formats, gaming), always up to date with gadget and technology news.
Any more advice would be great!0 -
Look on the Benefits, Tax Credits and Job-seeking board, do a search for interview and you will find LOTS of good advice already.Signature removed for peace of mind0
