Desperately need a job

Why dont you walk round your local shopping centre and just go into each shop and ask if they have any jobs? That's how I got my first job (years ago). I would recommend supermarkets, they tend to pretty much always need staff, you can work really flexible hours (a lot of the are open 24 hours 7 days a week), you can do extra hours most of the time and you can have a real laugh. By the way, lot of shops dont bother advertising in papers for just one or two positions.
Unfortnately, this might not be the best time to be applying to shops, as they will have recently got rid of a lot of the temps employed for xmas. Still worth a try though, as a lot of people will have left of their own accord too.
Try the big out of town shopping places, where you have shops like B and Q, MAtalan, MFI, supermarkets etc
Good luck0 -
I have done all that and still not got a job, i havent heard anything from morrisons so i guess its a no.0

to be honest, the cv around the shopping centre is pure luck, ask to see a manager and ask then rather than giving the cv to a sales assistent.
also ask your mates who work in shops to ask, i got work at topshop doing that.:A Boots Tart :A0 -
Oh no! Moneysavingme have you tried the jobcentreplus.gov.uk website. I dont know about where you live but there are loads of jobs, and something might be up your street.
When I was 15 I started off delivering the free papers with my mum ( that is boring!) and then I moved to a saturday job at a small clothes shop in Manchester. Right place right time I think for that, and from there I went to tescos where I sayed part time for 3 years, the great thing about it was that there were always extra hours. ( and double time sundays!)
Keep on at it, you sound mad keen and if I had a job Id give it to you just cos you really want to work! Keep us posted..!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I am a hardworker with no work-relevant hobbys or hobbys like scouts etc. I have the emptiest cv in the world. My work experience place have no jobs, there the only place that know how much of a hardworker i am. I have tried jobcentreplus and there is nothing. I am really angry, all shops are inundated with students working weekends left over from xmas, everywhere wants people to work in the week.0

that is annoying, i got work in my local cinema as my first job and had no experience, used to work brilliant as i could work evening shifts during the weekday which finsihed around 2am, tiring, but then a lot of the time i didnt have morning lessons during sixth form...:A Boots Tart :A0

Dont have any local cinemas except the usual chains like cineworld which dont take you on until you have officially left school.
My father dosent realise how hard i am trying and just had a go at me about it, all i can say is that was the last straw. He dosent care, he could pull a few strings at get me a job at the call centre the company he works for own which is nearby but he just says i wont like it. I am past caring about if i like jobs, i have even tried dry cleaners for gods sake, i am obviously not bothered.
Most of my friend dont want to work or are in the same position as me.
I am sick of it and to top it off the crap government wont give me any money for next year in sixth form because my parents earn over £30K. Yeah, like i ever seen any of that money in my hands, i have to starve myself and save dinner money if i want to buy anything.0 -
i worked at vue when it was warner villege cinemas, i was under the 18yr old age thing but they let me and 2 friends work there as they were desperate for employees its a timing thing:A Boots Tart :A0

A word of warning though - some of the parents think that their little treasure is the next David Beckham and every game is the world cup final, and they can get carried away with their criticism of the ref.
There's always a bit of babysitting as well.
Just wondering if you had any details of these courses? I'm planning on becoming a teacher and love football, anything like this would be great fun and a big bonus on my CV i think.0 -
Still nothing, even the pub down the road havent got vacancies despite them never having enough staff for the last 4 years since change of ownership. Tried all the local pubs now and still nothing.0
