Goodness, don't they book fast!! Having missed out twice in the time it took us to decide on a hotel and check dates with my husbands work we have just got three nights at Saltash Cornwall in the Easter hols for £30 - yipee!
We've just booked 3 nights in June at the same place.
The website acts strangly,I had to pick dates carefully because of work patterns. The dates we wanted wernt avalible, then were when I went back to the website.
No dates seem to be avalible after June for the area we wanted, but I booked a night for a tenner in another part of the country some weeks back for august.
Always pays to keep checking the website.
  • I agree about keep checking the website - I book for two nights in London for Easter hols a couple of days ago - no £10 rooms available so booked at £26. Went back to book extra night today and I could have 3 nights at £10! Never mind still a bargain and plenty of tesco vouchers to use to go sightseeing. We booked at the Docklands Travelodge - buffet breakfast £6.50 - kids up to 10yrs eat free!

We have booked 3 nights in Edinburgh. But the website enabled us to have four different lodges for various dates in different towns in our 'shopping basket' until we had checked dates (with work and dogsitters etc) and decided on Edinburgh. We then changed the contents of our basket and make the payment for Edinburgh.
Thanks to the OP for a great cheap break.
LOL may well see you there then!!!

We've got 3 nights in Edinburgh and 1 night in Dumfries for family of 4, £10 a night!!!! BARGAIN!

Thanks to Edilass for flagging the offer up to me! :T

21 days advance notice was not convenient for me. But a good deal all the same.

Is the £10 room always a family room - i.e does it have a sofa bed or single pull out bed? We would need a bed for our daughter in the room.

You don't always get a family room it sometimes says double room and sometimes you get a choice. If it says family room then there is a sofa bed like a small single with another one underneath which sits abot a foot off the floor. You can also ask for a travel cot after you have booked.
  • I went on to the site on Sunday morning to book, sorted out what I wanted and then suddenly got a message that the site would be closed for maintenance for a few minutes. In fact it was a lot longer than that and when it came back the rooms I wanted had gone from off the list.
But I have managed to get 2 rooms (my Mum doesn't like sharing) at the London Docklands hotel for Feb 28th. For London that's beyond bargainous!!!
    Thanks

  • I am gutted. I have just been onto travel lodge's website and have tried to book a room near where my family live.
Sadly, they dont have rooms for 5 people ( 2 adults and 3 children )

Their suggestion was to book 2 rooms.... so I either put the children in a room on their own (who are 10, 6 and 5) or we have to split adults and children into seperate rooms.

What a lovely family break that would be! :wall:
I intend to live forever - so far so good! :j

You may be able to get room next to each other? tried that?

Hi friendly.gal. Like you I have three kids. If I'm booking ten pound rooms I book two. We take an inflatable ready bed thing with us and all crash in one room anyway.

If I have to pay more than £10 for a room I book only one and smuggle the extra child in. I have never been challenged by travelodge about doing this although I do get a bit stressed.

If you're as criminal as me you could try this - there is easily enough floor space in the rooms (and my three year old never spends a full night in her own bed anyway...sigh).

I was going to add my child smuggling strategies but then it struck me a vigilant member of travelodge staff might read them and spring me next time, but I'm sure you could use your imagination!
